How's Z.O.E 2?

Found a used copy at Gamestop. God the internet rules. I just typed in my zip for the game and showed all the stores that carried the game.

The mechanical/character design is so freaking superb in this game. Yoji is Godlike!

It looks like Nobuyoshi Nishimura's work. He was the one in charge of the 2d animation. Look at Nohman's face, Shinkawa would never let something like that slide. Isn't that pic from the first ZOE, SSX?

Hmm, I found it listed in Naimoka's ZOE2 art section.

BTW, does anyone know what the hell Urban Hercules is?

That's Shinkawa's art for it.

I have no clue, but I just learned that Nobuyoshi Nishimura designed some mobile suits for the gundam series, was in charge of animation and some design in the first MGs (the codec scenes) and that Tsubasa Masao, the artist from AC!D, was the main artist in ZOE2. Shinkawa's lines are never that fine.

The Dynasty Warriors-type battle was awesome. By that, I mean combating 300-500 enemies in one huge area.
Heck yeah, I loved that.

ZOE2 is one of those games that you should see in motion- even if you don't end up liking it all that much. A definate standout in terms of artistic quality and visual flair. I guess it reminds me of Otogi 1 and 2; I can see not liking the gameplay all that much (although I sure do), but the game is just purty as heck to see moving.

I really hated the first one, but never played the second (obviously.) Is it really that much better?

ZOE2:ZOE::Street Fighter II:Street Fighter

The fight against the battleships was the highlight of the game for me, but the game really is superb all the way through. No backtracking, no filler, just one fresh, amazing level after another until the end credits roll.

OK, I love ZOE2 as much as the next guy, but...

...

This game is definatly one of the best for any system this generation.
Konami never ceases to amaze me, with the way they can manipulate the ps2's archetecture.
They push out some crazy visuals.

This game shit's all over the first one which I found drab.
I wish every game improved over it's sequals like this one did.
If they make a ZOE3 for next gen systems it's gonna be mind blowing!

so sera is into ah... *hehe* blasting her cannon? ..................... *tumbleweed blows by*............. oh, come on!!! I havent had any sleep either.

Basically what they did is took ZOE and turned it into a pure action game. They removed the segments where you had to fly Jehuty to the next location to fight and instead there's a small cutscene break that leads into that next section and then you're dropped right into the next battle. You're also given a much greater arsenal of moves to fight with since you're going to be fighting waves and waves of enemies instead of just a few enemies at a time.

My biggest complaint with the original is that it just felt so slow and boring and empty. I think I played it for about 5 hours before stopping.

Ya know, I might just pick up the 3 ZOE games now! It's really that good?

Oh but the BESTEST part is in the middle of the giant battle, when the enemy re-enforcements come right at you. Watching the radar screen is like an episode of Aliens in broad daylight. The game just does not pull any punches at all. My face hurt from grinning so much during that and the battleship takedown stage.

On an off-note, I respect the way Jehuty waves down the last train at the station...

Haha. I must of replayed the train level 6-7 times before I realized you had to continually tap the dash button instead of hold down on it.

Bah, that doesn't count :P

Yeah, but I can't buy the one without the rest! I'll scope out prices for all 3, see how much they'll cost, together, and decide then.
