Human-sized Reptiles as playable characters

Over the past years, I noticed varios game franchises having reptiles in video games where they interact with humans. I wonder what is it about reptiles that benefit more from video game interaction more than any other species?

Reptile (Mortal Kombat)
A mysterious human kombatant revealed to be an alien reptile serving Shao Kahn, he first revealed his true colors in Mortal Kombat 2. His special abilities included cloaking himself, spitting acid and eating his victim's heads. He maintained a mostly human ninja form until MK4, where they gave him the full reptile look with green skin and never turned back, except for some alt costumes.

Lizard Man (Soul Calibur)
This is a curious one but basically his fighting style was a short sword (or ax) and shield, similar to Sophitia. Storywise, he was a human warrior who went berzerk and went on a killing rampage before being experimented on and turned into Lizard Man. I'm not sure what his reptilian attack was, besides a rolling and charging attack.

Brutus (Brute Force)
I never played this Xbox 3rd person shooter so I can't comment too much. But my first thought was, "Why is Lizard Man holding a gun?" According to Wikipedia, "Special ability gives him the Spirit of Vengar, a vision-like mode to help see enemies and also to heal him, and make him kill enemies on contact."

Arbiter (Halo)
This one is arguable. The Elites are the toughest AI combatants in the Halo series. Their species also seems reptilian in nature. They have advanced technology to allow them to cloak themselves, and they can make huge leaps as AI. As a playable character, you are bound by the equipment you have, though.

And the last example I can think of is...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
I don't recall having any unique abilities that define the TMNT as being turtles. I think they are primarily defined by their ninjitsu fighting prowess, though you could call that "turtle power".

Anything I am missing? I purposely omitted the game Snake because all it does is eat food and grow. Also I omitted Battletoads because they are amphibians and they didn't interact with humans (unless you count Battletoads & Double Dragon).

They've taken over the video games industry now too.

1)Reptiles are a class not a species.

2)Reptiles are probably not represented any more than any other class of animals in videogames... specifically mammalia.

Tekken 2's Alex forgives you, but raptors with boxing gloves never, ever forget

Reptiles are selectable characters because they're fun to use. It's really no deeper than that

Edit - Ohhhhh, I didn't see the "playable" part until now, my bad. Roy isn't playable. But if he was I'd throw him in front of the first moving vehicle I could see.

I'm probably the only one who ever played this game, but Gryzz from Albert's Odyssey is the best.

"You lie like the plants after the snow!"

"You think the French are good kissers?"

Croc. Not sure he interacts with humans, tho I do think he does with a witch. But he is Anthropomorphized

In Final Fantasy XI there are these really creepy lizard demons called Mamool Ja - here's a video of some of them. (Warning:This video contains loud music playing over the game audio, please adjust your speaker volume accordingly.) FFXI: Mamool Ja.

Remember leveling on them a few times in a party. People usually killed those birds, or imps for XP.
