Humble Choice going up to $14.99 starting in July

They'd better be bringing the heat next month. I've been pausing it way more than I've been buying it recently. I unironically think Amazon Prime has been giving away a better selection of games the last year or so.

It's rare for me to buy a Humble Bundle, because quality has gone down significantly.
There is still the occasional bundle that is decent enough, but not the bangers that used to be a few years ago.
Ever since IGN bought Humble Bundle it has been a steep decline.

It's often better to just go on deals.gg and buy a key after a game you want is in a bundle rather than buying the bundles themselves. The prices always drop a ton after they are included.

Not only that but you end up buying bundles over bundles over bundles of games you will never play for that slight touch of instant dopamine.
I'm subscribed to Humble Monthly yearly plan but i pretty much gave up on every other bundles when i discovered that i ended up purchasing for around $1000 worth of them in just over one month.
Better purchase a $50 game you'll play than 300 for 1000 you'll never even install.

I bought this month's bundle because the sent me offer to purchase at $6.00 and I still had to ponder on that as all I was interested in was Soul Reaver so this will be a hard sell for me. Maybe we'll get some kick ass bundles out the gate to help stem the tide of cancelations.

Citation from Xenoblade Chronicles 2:
"Why are you so poor?"

They're not even trying to hide it anymore.

People in these forums will start to say this is going to be expensive, but the prospect of getting cheap games still annoys the Japanese it appears.

I mean it might be bad, but it could be worse - and there are those out there hoping for it to become that way.

I got an annual gift subscription last year for Christmas, so I'm good for a while - but definitely would not renew at this price. For $15, you might as well pick out a game on sale every month on Steam that you actually want to play.

haven't taken Humble Choice is yonks, quality of the games cratered once EGS starting giving out games for free.
I find Fanatical's Build Your Own Bundles to be far superior in terms of game quality and I don't get any dupes. A major problem when you have a library in the thousands.

I don't see the point of paying the monthly fee when all the games included every month can be bought for a couple bucks a piece after the bundle drops

I cannot help but hear this in the voice of Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the Castle of Camelot, King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, Sultan of all England.

Like a lot of folks, I don't bother doing long term subs and only really buy the bundle if I want it. Between adding EA Origin keys and then removing a game for IGN+, they haven't help people want to commit. The changes a while ago to what percentage goes to charity etc was an issue too.
Also with EA keys, they did a bit of a sneaky thing and displayed the key for Immortals without you pressing the reveal key. The first time I requested a refund I was denied because of that, but when I replied saying it was revealed without me pres anything, I got my refund. Still scummy/ stupid behaviour.

Yep, this is what I've been doing of late save for the rare occasion where I genuinely want the vast majority of the games included in the bundle.

I'm still on classic anyway, so doesn't really impact me either way.

Went up for classic too. But at least the games are good this month. Rogue Trader is a hell of a get.

Showing $14.99 for me too. I was debating on getting Daemon X Machina in the steam sale, might as well get this bundle for $2.50 more.

Already have most of this months games so I'm skipping anyway, but they will need to work much harder than they have been to justify the price increase.

Are you not eligible for the yearly discounts that roll out in December?
they'll probably do a promo similar to the ones in the past, where a year will be "on sale" now for $129 (instead of the usual $99). So, what used to be normal price will be the new discount.

I did not know that. So it's like the old Xbox 360 games with gold. Got to keep all those.
They do have a side thing called Humble Vault that has a bunch of games you can play while your sub is active, but that is tied to your subscription. If you buy Humble Choice, you keep the games once you paid that month and then you can cancel anytime and keep them.

Does that work if you already have an annual subscription in place?

Nope, the discount is only valid if you buy it within the promo timeframe, and only once per promo period per account (I tried to stack years last year at the $99 price, wouldn't let me).

Yea I was curious about this too. Looks like mine hasn't changed either. Guess we'll see when we get billed, though.

We need to get IFireflyl IFireflyl to go month-to-month next May so he can save some duckets.

Yeah you can. This is cheaper than Rogue Trader has ever been.
Yeah I know, I got this on my wishlist for a while now. I wonder if I wait for the complete package after season 2. I don't think I'll play a 130h+ game twice, I would prefer wait for the complete package next year. At the same time, the original game seems quite competent even without the DLCs.

I ended up buying the season pass on the steam sale. Worth it.

dont forget to hit pause on the bundle if it has no games you want.

What? $1000, were you notified or just didn't know you were buying that much?

I don't know how these bundles even work so this sounds crazy too me.

Yeah I sometimes (all the time) spend too much on steam and switch sales but no where near that.

Season 1 DLCs are pretty good and I doubt you really need more than that with Season 2.

You can always come back couple years down the road if you really want to and I did just that with WotR after DLC and mythical path improvements. There are so many different variables in Owlcat's games that second (or third 😅) playthrough are still fun.
