Yeah dude, when I spend, I go HARD. So all I've got left is enough for two fill ups on gas until I get paid again next week (I get paid weekly, traveling Cisco Network Engineer), then I'll go HARD again, after bills and wife. So in any case I'll prolly end up buying this anyway and giving away the majority here. Since all I need now is Scribblenauts. ;)

Edit: And both my PS4 preorders are bundles.

Not actually that important
It's just so mean! lol

Yeah, I'm making too much of a big deal, I know, but there's quite a bit that's annoying, like they really make the point you only get a revocable licence and no ownership and have no rights, they can do what they want and you give up your right to any legal recourse and submit to binding arbitration only, and then you also agree to pay all of their legal costs in any dispute yada yada and you have to consent to your pc being monitored while the game's running (anti-cheat, I know, but still...) etc. I can really feel the love.

I haven't played anything other than indie games on pc really, so I'm just not used to it. I shouldn't have read it. I guess I'll get over it and agree to it at some point soon though, just not now.

Are you serious? Like, for real?
I take it this the first game you ever buy and P,ay since this gen started?

For the people from Germany or currently living in Germany:
F.E.A.R. 3 is english and NOT some kind of Low-Violence enforced version. The amounts of blood and gore seems to suggest it is uncut, which is sweet.
Haven't tried FEAR 2 yet, as that has no co-op.

Got it mainly for Scribblenauts, but I hate the Steam thing. I forgot my password (I only had Just Cause 2 on it when it was on Amazon for 2.50 or something years ago) and it was impossible to change it, so I said fuck it and created a new account.

DRM sucks.

You didn't have a working e-mail account linked to your Steam account?

I'm digging on this LOTR game, this is a pretty fun little B-tier beat 'em up/loot hack hybrid in co-op.

You do know you can ask for the password right? Seems more like you forgot the e-mail that was linked to it.

Humblebundle just keeps getting worse and worse, seriously. First, it was pay whatever you want, even a penny. Then it jumped to $1 entry fee, massive jump by a order of magnitude. Now they won't even give you Steam keys, but make you link your Steam account to use them. Lame!

Nah, usually it's two maybe three GOOD games for one dollar, rest are crap or mediocre. But you missed the context entirely... Point was the goalpost keeps moving. And for really no real reason concerning the Steam keys.

Actually you can still gift the keys and such. If anything it's more of an easier way to add games.

Also are seriously being angry about them preventing abuse on the system with the 1 dollar minimum? At the very least they're providing the game free of DRM with less then 1 dollar.

They upped the minimum for Steam keys to a dollar, initially, as a move against people using the penny keys to setup fake Steam accounts used for scamming, smurfing, and other nefarious things.

Mind you, in cases where DRM free copies are offered, you can still give a penny. It's just that more and more of the games offered are Steam only.

Lastly, the new account linking system gives the legitimate user as much flexibility as the old key-based system. You can still gift away the copies easily by hitting the gift box icon.

Is this a real post?

It is a fucking dollar. I don't think it matters the price of entry it a hundred times more, it is still only $1. The new key system is far more convenient, as I can load the games onto my account much faster.

There definitely was a reason, if the system is abused.

"Oh no how can I resell my keys now"

It's a fucking charity event, I don't know what goalposts you're speaking of. People abused the system, the system was changed.

I know, I just gifted all the keys except Scribblenauts. Points is, why change a system that was working fine to begin with? Just asking and being skeptical really... And even with the "pay whatever you wish" scheme, they were still making loads of unprecedented profit for this type of bundle system, I still remember people donating $200+ during that time. Guess they just wanted more, at the end of the day. Not unnatural for a business to keep upping the price if the populous is willing to pay it, and at the same time denounce skeptics with the "b-b-b-but it's still just $1". Point is, why change it, other than for business greed?

Just sucks because all the other bundle sites started popping up and following HB's pattern somewhat. So we get the same-ish prices rather than almost everybody offering a "pay whatever" system. Which, as again a advocate for the gamer, is a better deal as a whole.

I'd rather just get the keys personally. But I guess it's a matter of opinion.

Only two good games for a dollar? Those monsters.

Personally I can identify far more with the complaints about the humble bundle no longer pushing DRM-free and multiplatform games than about a lower limit of 1 USD.

Because people were paying pennies and reselling codes.

This is just such a weird conversation to be having because they've had the $1 minimum for Steam keys since December of 2011. Plus, they've made no indication that they will ever raise the 1 dollar minimum for Steam keys, either.

Yeah, I didn't want to get off on that tear, but I agree, overall it started out a great idea and now they seem to just be sinking into a sinkhole. Was nice when everything had Win/Mac/Linux support, OST's, and DRM-Free and you could pay whatever you wanted. But hey, dat nostalgia!

lol, you do realize I'm into Newegg and Tigerdirect and misc PC sites for about 38,000+ over the past two years. So that made me laugh, on the inside.

Hilarious everybody's attacking me for questioning a system that would cost them less. I'm all for paying absurd amounts of cash for PC parts and technology, at release prices. But I have a different outlook when it comes to "purchasing games". But that's sort of another topic.

You've also not responded to anyone who is actually telling you why they started doing it, but whatevs. Your priorities are weird, but they're your own.

Nothing to do with nostalgia; just abuse.
Don't you know the saying «This is why we can't have anything nice» ?

People were buying keys for 0.01$, giving the money to charity (zero profit to humble and publisher/developer) and selling the keys or trading them for other games (zero profit for another random publisher/developer)

Does that sound like a good business model to you?

I don't give a fuck what people were doing with their keys after they bought them, selling them for $100 a piece effects none of our pay or pussy whatsoever. Why should we as gamers give a shit about this? After all, it was a pretty good deal for gamers who got some profit off of it while it lasted, correct? And for all the "abuse" gamers have taken for the mass majority of this generation on a number of levels, I hardly think buying key's for a penny and reselling them at higher prices is the worst blasphemy ever.

Sometimes, talking to "fellow gamers" I wonder really where the loyally really lies. The bidnis, or how the bidnis effects us and how we can exploit it to better our interests instead of imagining there's this magical balancing act where both parties equally benefit. But that's just me, and I understand that a lot of people feel that we're "all in this together as a collective" (aka the bidnis and consumer). But that's just not the reality. I'm in it for the gamer alone, period.

For £3 that's a bargain price, bought it but wish i had a PC to play these games on. Waiting for Boxing day or Black Friday to snag a cheap laptop or desktop to play on. If you're wondering why i can't play these games, it's due to the fact i use a 27" 2011 iMac mid range spec.

It reads more like you should take the other half as well.

I take 4x wholes, bro. Plus some 2x 3mg Xanax inside a tall shot of Vodka. When it comes to benzo's and sedative hypnotics, I'm a professional! ;) FYI "halved Valium" implies you break it in two then put both halves under tongue to dissolve faster and get a faster and more intense buzz.

Anyway, back on topic, what does anybody reckon the new games that'll be added will be?

Bitching over ONE FUCKING DOLLAR. Really now?

I was actually more perturbed I didn't get my Steam keys as usual, Skeezix. Was kind of the point of the post people took out of context en mass.

Edit: Just broke 73L's score in Super Hexagon in Hexagonestest at 1028 secs. HA! Can't do it without loads of Vodka and Xanax, I barely break 90 secs on Hexagon sober. :( Sorry, just had to brag somewhere. :p

So to end this back and forth of retardation that's throwing the thread into a tizzy for a different opinion, which wasn't my intention. Let me end it with this. I have my opinion on the matter, you and anybody else are free to have yours. Anything beyond that is chatterbox two TV's pointed at one another, there's nothing more to say. So like grown ass adults lets move on and let this thread get back on track.

Sorry if I offended anyone's bundle glands.

Well it's more like you made an overreaction to something that has been set since a year ago.

And as people said, it's not like the new method didn't really do anything terrible. You can't just go "it's opinion!" and expect not to get reactions.

F.E.A.R 2 and 3 posted for quoting, sorry for not including them at first. They don't look like my kind of game and 3 looks like it doesn't work on my PC.

No real reason ?

There are dozens of people selling humblebundle keys on auction sites.
That's why it's setup the way it is now.
