Reviews:

Post as soon as I know them.

Thanks a lot to the people on http://hunted.wikia.com for their effort of putting a lot of things in perspective that is hard to find out their in the "general media"

The gameplay in Hunted the Demon's Forge is 3rd person based and plays a lot like Gears of War
Their is an cover mechanic and the player has melee and long range weapons.
You move through the world in the single player camping co-op or with an AI partner.
You can buy items in towns that are spread out in the world, in these towns you can also take side quest from the villagers.

Caddoc is a warrior that specializes in sword fighting, but he is also highly intelligent. When he was young, his impulsive act cost him the life of his lover, and therefore he made a vow never to make such mistake. He is a mercenary who tries not to get emotionally involved - he just does his job and moves on.

A hulking warrior and deadly swordsman, Caddoc considers his mind to be one of his sharpest weapons. He is cool and cautious, always preferring to have a plan before he charges in... but he never hesitates when action is called for. An impulsive act he took as a youth cost him the life of his lover and he's vowed never to make such a mistake again. Now, he lives the detached life of a mercenary. He does the job, he takes his pay, he moves along. And he never, ever, gets emotionally involved. Not until now...

E'lara, the last of the Elves and an excellent archer.

An expert marksman and one of the few elves left in the world, E'lara lives to fight. She’s a thrill-seeker—rash and impulsive. She is also incredibly dangerous. Her people were slaughtered by the Minotaur when she was young and E’lara is one of the only ones who survived the massacre. But she’s learned not to dwell on her past, nor to waste much time worrying about her future. She lives entirely for that rush of adrenaline and the thrill of the moment.

jjn4sg.jpg

She is an adventurer-turned-temptress that appears to the main characters Caddoc and E'lara as a spirit guide.

Seraphine appears to Caddoc as a muse in his dream; haunted by the mystery of her identity, he seeks to find an answer for the reoccurring dream, and the ominous feeling that overwhelms him. As Caddoc and E'lara explore the Fountain of Elisha, they come upon the spirit Seraphine. As beautiful as she is mysterious, Seraphine explains to them that she is trapped in spirit form until her physical body is found. She offers the two the Deathstone; a magical crystal skull that grants the bearer insight into the lives of the recently deceased. With the Deathstone in hand Caddoc and E'lara must explore ancient ruins, booby-trapped dungeons, and besieged cities to discover the great mystery surrounding Seraphine and the disappearance of the local population.

2ugkzex.jpg

Annuvin is one of the main antagonist in the game. He used to be a great warrior, until he was succumbed to the power of the sleg. Now, he has to hunt souls to sacrifice to the sleg, so he can grow stronger. After the deathstone was stolen, he tore out the eyes of the dragons and dipped them in sleg, transforming them. Now, they must constantly search for the deathstone.

Maybe this could be okay, I could use a new dungeon crawler with awesome loot. Can you play this splitscreen? Probably not..

Gah. Is it just me or was there a significant lack of co-op action rpgs for consoles this entire generation and now they're all coming out at once?

Edit: This one is definitely the prettiest of them all.

Apparently it's not really a loot game though, at least based on what I've been able to find. You do get upgrades, but I don't think they are randomized.

Splitscreen is the only reason I'm buying this. The make your own levels feature could be great, but from what I've seen it looks too simplistic.

Im buying this, but sadden by the no release date delivery from Amazon. Im sure its due to the holiday weekend, but I dont want to use free shipping and get it a week later. I guess im actually going to go out among the public and buy it at a Best Buy or Gamestop. Ewwwwwww.

It seems that Amazon don't give a flying poop about this game, they didn't even matched TRU price ($45).

Yeah that's what I'm thinking (about the level editor). I'll be interested in hearing some impressions.

Bit ashamed to admit this but I'm trading in L.A. Noire for this if it's getting even remotely decent reviews.

Not ashamed because of THIS game.

Ashamed because I'm...you know...trading in a game.

Well L.A. Noire deserve to be traded in, what an awful game.

"Awful" is a bit strong for a descriptor.

I just wasn't feeling it and didn't dig the repetitiveness.

As for Hunted...I'm assuming there's plenty of loot, yes?

As someone said in another thread, Steam page says yes.

As for the game, I have mixed feelings. The Bethesda logo doesn't encourage me since Rogue Warrior was also published by Bethesda and it ended up being my worst game of all time.

yeah just noticed answer in other thread

my concern is if single player is frustrating with dumb AI, like "That Level" on lost planet 2

It can go either way. It can also have decent AI like Alyx in Half Life.

Have to say I LOVE the sound effects for this game, as shown in the sound design dev video. Especially sounds for hitting enemies.

Very important part of an Action RPG for me!

Been keeping my eye on this for awhile. Gonna grab the PC version at Kmart... That's if they get the PC version. I have some gaming coupons that need to be used.

Traded in LA Noire too for this. The only thing I want is the game to control smooth. Also, I have a fear that the content is going to be light and the loot too sparse.

People say it's not a loot game which makes me sad if true.

This game has no RPG elements are minimum, it's an action game, it actually reminded me of what Golden Axe would have been in 3D (not that awful game from a few years ago), very arcadish.

It is an enjoyable game none-the-less, with a few secrets to go looking for, but that's about it. Old-school mode will keep people coming for more, but it really wasn't what I was expecting months ago.

Ken said:

You can only keep a single main weapon (two later on), a single sub-weapon, and a single piece of armor, you pick one up, you drop the other one. If your enchanted weapon runs out of power, then it turns into a below-average weapon and you are better getting a new one from the next enemy killed or from the weapon stashes.

No reviews two days before the release is just stupid.

Bethesda do publish shitty games sometimes ( Wet, Brink, Rogue Warrior ) but also very good games (Pirates of the Caribbean, Call of Cthulhu) they are Hit and miss "publishing" wise.

Anyway, Rogue Warrior was made by Rebellion, one of the worst game studios ever with very bad track record ( Aliens vs Predator ,Shellshock 2), Hunted is developed by inXile , guys behind the good PC game Bard's Tale ( They also own the rights of Wasteland).

Does different armor change your character's armor aesthetically? Not talking about minor changes like getting a cloak or adding small shoulder armor but completely change your entire outfit.

By single piece of armor do you mean I can only equip a shoulder armor or a helmet and not both together?

I hope its not another Two Worlds.

Hold the fuck on...this was developed by the guys that did the whole "funny" and "Ha Ha" Bard's Tale that came out a few years back?

AvP was a much better game than the new Bard's Tale IMO.

You're not wrong...but I'm of the opinion that the new Bard's Tale was an abomination.

Fuck...I was REALLY hoping this was going to be something I wanted to play but even the scant information we've gotten about the game in this thread has me thinking my money is better spent elsewhere.

They are basically the same type, and now that you say it's more like a shoulder armor type than a body chest armor, and the aesthetic changes are minimum from one upgrade to another tho, but more noticeable if you form a normal armor to a high grade rare one. Basically you notice more changes in Zelda OoT than in this game, armor-wise.

But these armors are rarer and far between, so you won't be seen many changes as you'd do with the weapons, and forgot to mention but there's the shield slot as well, so the equip slots are: 2 main weapons (1 the first few chapters), sub-weapon, shield and armor.

Nice thread btw Dutch.

I love the cover for the game, one of the better ones I've seen in a while. The coloring and the placement of the characters are ace.

First game I blindly pre-ordered (on steam) not having a clue how good the game will be. Probably cause of the elf chick with the big tits.

I've been eyeing this game up since E3 last year. Liking what I see so far. And although the Crucible may be a little simplistic I've always enjoyed making my own maps in games. I must've spent hours and hours making them in Timesplitters 3.
This is a definite purchase (PC).
