The bathing culture of the romans showed their superiority and they were more healthy. Yes you can live without taking a shower of without taking a bath but thats means you will have the same health issues like the medieval times.

It was "socially constructed" yes but so is a lot of things, doesn't mean their bad.
Showering with hot clean water is a modern marvel and it's obviously popular because it is beneficial to hygine and it's honestly enjoyable, who doesn't like a nice hot shower? I guess that's my privilege talking though .

I went no-poo about 15 years ago, and life got better.

In fact I showered without anything other than water for quite a while. Can't imagine going without showers though, that just seems like gathering crap on your skin.

Now I shower with soap almost daily and shampoo maybe once every 2 weeks. Works fine. I don't have long hair though, I use the hair clippers about once a week.

Albeit I can't use most shower gels due to sensitive skin I still make sure I wash the important parts with some Sanex zero in the shower. The guy sounds like he's probably 10 years away from turning into a hoarder.

Sometimes if I have bed head or I'm visibly dirty I'll shower. Sometimes it's a nice ritual to warm up in the shower on a cold day. That's valuable too. When we're connected all the time, it's one of the few times people get to just stand and stare and their feet.

I knew there was no way he went five entire years without a single shower. I can understand only taking one shower a day, but never showering is not only absolutely disgusting, it's an unbelievably inconsiderate act that should be punishable by law.

One day in high school I heard some kids agreeing on a number. It was something like eight. I asked, hey, what's going on? Whatcha counting? I'm a curious cat. They told me they were seeing how many (school) days in a row this one kid wore the same shirt. He went like two weeks at least. It's possible he washed it over the weekends, but honestly, probably not. The guy was filthy. His white privilege could not save him from the disgust of his peers.

He was pretty alright to talk to, but he had a small number of awkwardly gross traits that are too hard to forget. Like his nosepicking. And eating. Without inhibition. I wonder if he's cleaned up.

I heard of showering with only water, which can work for a lot of people, but definitely not showering at all. That's how you get skin infections. He's going to fall down once and die

I don't think so. Warm water will help open up your pores to wash away oil but you still need to use soap.
