I’m noticing a lot of obscure Japanese and Chinese games coming on PC

I've noticed there's a lot more indie Chinese and Japanese coming on PC first than console. Is PC becoming more of the Japanese platform I knew that pc was dominant in China but seems like it's becoming the dominant platform of East Asia more than consoles. Also I know it's not bigger than mobile.

Still waiting for a proper high budget Wuxia/Murim rpg/open world game where i can just go around and play a young master slapping people left and right.

I take it this isn't your cup of tea?
All depends on how you read my post, hint...it isnt about PC/console wars....its a childish thing that me and my friends say when we hear fun words/statements....my 21 year old son now also does this. We also would use the term, 'hot', as well for the same statement. Yes...I am quite immature. :messenger_beaming:

It's the same reason you see indie anything go on PC first, the barrier to entry is easier/cheaper, and the discoverability on Steam for smaller games is light-years better than PSN, Xbox or Nintendo's digital storefronts.

The sole temporary exception being Switch 2 right now because its store hasn't gotten filled yet with new bigger releases to clog up finding smaller stuff.

Yeah, it's really all thanks to Steam. The Japanese PC gaming market went from basically nonexistent 15 ~ 20 years ago to something quite respectable especially in recent years.

I was reading that article on here yesterday about that From Soft dev whose indie game flopped. I looked at the publisher and I have never heard of them despite them putting out a bunch of games in the last few years.

Seems like the indie scene in Japan is getting bigger.

Yes, they have come out of the woodwork and they look generic and uninspiring. Polish games, French games, Chinese games. Very bland. and they are all indies. I guess it is there first-time making games?

It's not high budget but Wandering Sword is basically that. Well, you aren't the Young Master but you encounter bunch of them 😉.

Not sure about that, just a few months ago there were abysmal AI generated games flooding the PSN.

If you can make a website and/or host files you can publish a game on PC.
People forget the Genshin Impact isnt even on Steam.

PC has been the home for all sorts of exclusive games for years, and let's hope things stay this way and that these games don't come to consoles at all
