I absolutely hate looking for work.

I walked by this place on Monday, got called in for an on the spot interview and was told I would receive a call on that day or Tuesday.

Lo and behold, it's Wednesday and no call, and the manager isn't in and their number isn't up yet (new store). Thursday was supposed to be training.

I don't know what to do and every time this happens while job searching I just feel like there's no purpose to even trying.

Sorry for the rant.

I remember getting a job interview at wally world, and said that I didn't have to call, they would call me. I never got that call ;_;

Well, I guess I may have dodged a bullet either way.

It's the worst. Compared to the amount of effort you put in and the little-to-none you get in return, it's infuriating.

I was so excited when I applied for basically my dream job earlier this year, put a lot of work into cover letter and everything, and actually got a response. Only to find out that, since it's a non-profit, they're only paying about $9/hr for a position that requires a degree (that I have). I've never had a job I haven't hated, and looking for other jobs is just as bad.

Back in the days when I needed a quick job for the summer I always found something very quick on Craigslist. Really is great for that kind of thing.
