Yeah I agree. This is the better ending.
I didn’t think the OG ending really made sense.
What happened with the original ending I kinda forgot?
I just remember that girl escaped and wound up at some quarantine zone??
I just remember it missing the point of the book and this one kinda seems the same.

In the OG ending his house gets stormed right as he discovers the cure and sacrifices himself to let the lady and kid escape with a vial. It’s basically “good guy sacrifice against the horde of motiveless boogeymen.” It kinda spits in the face of the short story.
IMO this alternate ending is more faithful, as in this ending Neville realizes they are only after the female vampire he’s experimenting on, the “wife” of the vampire alpha, and to them HE is the monster, he is their boogeyman. Hence, “I Am Legend.” To them, he’s the bad guy.
Maybe it’s more the opposite since they are loud and proud every other time.
Something more like:
If I remember correctly, he locked her in the escape hatch and went down shooting.
This movie messed me up with the dog scene. :/
He put her in the escape hatch, pulled the ring of a grenade the moment they came in and went down in an explosion
Read the book instead.I remember watching this at the movies but don’t remember too many details except for the main plot points.
I have to watch this again
In the book wasn't he the monster? Like they were the new normal and he was the one taking them and doing experiments and killing them by the thousands? anywho in this ending it seems like they tried to humanize them by having them not tear him up after they got the chic..I can see why they scrapped it . Maybe if the movie played up to this by having them have some kind of human behavior but even he himself said "all human behavior is now absent " as is though it doesn't make sense
I have no imagination for booksRead the book instead.
The zombies were the worst part. The movie is okay when it's just Will Smith on his own doing day-to-day stuff accompanied by his dog. As soon as the zombies show up the movie mostly turns to shit. Lost some respect for Mike Patton due to this movie.Whole film turns to shit once other hyoomuns appear so w/e.
Bummer. The movie is decent but quite different from the book.I have no imagination for books
