Terrible horrible ideology trying to normalize underage sex. I don't know people that talk like this movie portrays, and I am not saying they are not out there, but people obsessed with constant sex humors are fairly weak minded.

My dad actually taught a sex ed class when I was middle school age. It was more about the biological process than hormones driving you. Self control can go a long way. I was young once and had urges and hormones, but I also had self control and respect for people. Not all teens are sex pest.

What makes you think this is normalising underage?, it looks like a fish out of water teaching high / secondary school to me... the same demographic as American Pie. The actual stuff shown in the trailer is of the teacher....

Cool, but for those that do not have the control of a monk here's ABC things to take care of before sticking it in / letting him stick it in that won't ruin the rest of your lives because Christian morality ftw. I'm absolutely sure I can pull any stats about teen moms and it will always show conservative and religious areas have more of them than the liberal ones. I guess "controlling your urges" only gets you so far.

But when it comes to stuff like films you see a lot more people talking about how they don't want to see sex or nudity than you used to. Here's one study as an example talking about Gen Z. But it's not just young people. I remember reading people talk about how the nudity in films like Oppenheimer was "pointless" and shouldn't have been included. Sex is depicted much less than it was in previous years too. You see people talk about films being "degenerate" and that sort of thing.

I don't think it's everywhere, but people are a lot more vocal about the examples that do exist. That's where I think things have become more puritanical. I don't think it's a stretch to say that people get more up in arms about media than they did 10 or 20 years ago.

There's that thing I linked to above about how much less sex scenes occur in films these days. Maybe it's not the case from what you've seen but, purely anecdotally, I've certainly noticed that there's less sex and nudity in films and TV shows than there used to be.

I don't want to take this too far off topic in talking about Oppenheimer in detail but I don't think it was pointless in that. I just meant that you had people saying it was and wanting to see fewer depictions of sex and nudity in films in reaction to something that was actually pretty tame.

I guess with porn, people don't generally talk to each other about what they have a sneaky wank to or if they're subscribing to OnlyFans. That all happens under the surface which is why you can get these extreme cases, like Bonnie Blue, where there's a kind of arms race to push the envelope and grab attention. So you end up with a divide of sexual content thriving more than ever in private spaces, but is increasingly absent from more openly consumed media

These days, a lot of popular films are "fun for all the family" fare. You can look at last year's worldwide box office to see what I mean. In the past, you could have an erotic thriller like Basic Instinct be one of the year's biggest box office hits. Maybe it's that the wide availability of porn now means people no longer rely on cinema for a sexual fix, they can just Google "tits" on their phone. At the same time, audience tastes have narrowed, with more people gravitating toward middle of the road franchise films aimed at the broadest possible audience or something that allows them to relive their youth.

I guess there was a few more raunchy films back in the old days thinking about it. When thinking about it I guess its a case of being terminally online, I never gave a thought to the general populous of films available to the general public. Yeh I think that if you think about the school sex comedy as a genre it used to be a pretty consistent staple of cinema over the decades going from stuff like Animal House through to American Pie and Superbad but it's not really something you get much of these days. So that's why this kinda stood out to me and was the reason for my initial post.

Outside of stuff like those studies I'd linked to it is a hard thing to nail down to any kind of concrete metric and it comes down to how you think about it. So no worries about repeating yourself. I also find myself repeating words and phrases a shitload when writing replies on here. Like I've just noticed I put "I think that if you think about" at the start of this post. So maybe we're both overthinking this!
