I could cut one hour out of Endgame and make it a better movie

I haven't seen Infinity War or Endgame. I just had people from work tell me what happens to save me six hours.

Can't be fucked with the fanbase getting mad at character development or character traits. Getting mad at Star-Lord because he explodes in a fit of rage when someone he cares about is torn away from him. GOTG2>>>>Most Marvel movies btw.

I kinda wanna watch Black Panther though but I watched Coming to America recently and it's the same shit but better. 🤷‍♂️

The fans don't really tear the films apart, it's the haters that dooooooo.

And they actually thought fat Thor would be funny for the whole movie

But he wasn't supposed to be.

The captain marvel scenes did it for me. Why didn't she just put the glove on and snap? How, when she can fly faster than light, did thanos throw his sword faster than her? In its defence, at least it wasn't black panther.

It’s basically a big fat fanservice cherry on top of the fanservice sundae that the MCU already was, and it was just too much.

Hey remember Avengers 1? Remember Guardians of the Galaxy? Remember Thor Dark World (lol)? Here’s Cap using the hammer! Here’s Pepper Potts as Rescue! Here’s uhhhh Red Skull!

Hey Disney remember the Hulk? Remember his whole thing was the inner conflict between Banner and the Hulk? Remember how y’all had him resolve that offscreen during a timeskip? It’s okay though it was worth it for that dumbass girl power sequence during the final battle, that’s screentime well spent.

Every Marvel movie is the exact same level of quality. They're all... fine.

On the range to "which of these exceedingly competent video game compilations in 4K comic book adaptations by the way of the 60s Batman show in the Star Wars prequels is BETTER comparatively than the others" ... Endgame falls squarely in the exact middle.

Why? Because the value of these films is "amount of Superheroes/Recognizable IP on screen simultaneously divided by amount of Time spent waiting for that to happen."

The best possible version of a Marvel experience would be a Quibi of Spider-Man exchanging specific and layered inside jokes with each Avenger, X-Man, and Cosmic Entity while they simultaneously shoot their super powers at a big bad villain. It would take 10 minutes and feature 20,000 characters.

The worst possible version of a Marvel movie would be the entire length of all MCU films back to back but the entire plot is actually the movie "Glass" and you never see anyone in costume.

So Endgame is directly in the middle of that. It was long and tedious, but on the other hand, there were a lot of superheroes and logos and IP that I recognize from other media.

And gee whiz the actors had signatures in the credits, ma!

Endgame feels like they completely ran out of steam with Infinity War, and the resulting movie is a long drawn epilogue to it.

Only part I liked was the final battle, and they coulda taked that onto the first movie instead of making a whole new one

I like them both just fine. I think you could cut an hour out of most movies and improve them, to be honest. I get you need your epics of sci-fi and fantasy but why are we seeing two and a half hour comedies? (thanks apatow you fucking dipshit.)

Avengers endgame? Never heard of it.

The last movie I in the Avengers-series is the one where Thanos kills 50% of everything and then spend the rest of his life growing weed and carrots on his farm.
This "Endgame" sounds like a shitty followup or a ripoff.

Sounds like the rumor about the 2 new trilogies of Star Wars they were gonna make.
What's next, someones gonna make a 4th indiana jones movie? *PTHF*

Logan in itself was a great movie. Good acting, good set pieces and really made you feel for the characters.

The problem it has is outside of the movie. In typical Fox mismanagement fashion, there was no build up to it. It was just: "ok, we are in the near future, all the X-Men are dead and Logan is now sick and a limousine driver.'

Would have been great to have a movie depicting Xavier losing it and actually wiping out the X-Men unknowingly, in some conflict rather than just "well, it happened".

Yeh for me I would get rid most of the infinity stone collecting parts it just drags, I was hoping for more IW action lvls with Thanos wielding the gauntlet like a boss instead we got a few good moments in a slog of a movie.

Logan is the best of the X-men movies.

One of the most boring movies I've seen recently. I was pretty done with Marvel movies to begin with, but Endgame just made me lose what little was left of interest.

It's just so long , and unnecessary. I can’t stand movies that mainly make a previous movie obsolete, which is what this one did.

I hear ya I wanted to see the Avengers go against Thanos with the gauntlet again I see why they didn’t but IW has some of the best action scenes in a comic book movie and that’s why it’ll always be IW>>>>EG

Wow, you've gotta see the prequel then, he uses each stone and then all of them together.
He uses the red stone for a power point presentation and to fake his death....child please... I wanted him to fully use each stone to its potential like how he used the time stone in infinity war

So Terminator 2 and Return of the Jedi are shit films?

Agreed, I am not a super Marvel nerd so Infinity War was awesome for me, while Endgame relied too much on the assumed attachment I have with the characters. They also cheated and killed my beloved Thanos.

I thoroughly enjoyed Endgame. But yes, if you're not invested in the characters, its a long slog of shit you don't care about.

On the other hand if you are invested it betrays a bunch of them and ends their arcs in pretty much the worst possible ways.

I thought Tony and Cap had good endings which were true to their respective origin movies. Black Widow was badly done but whatever, we'll see what they do with her prequel and if that retroactively makes the character more compelling.

Outside of those three, I struggle to think of who actually got an ending. Everyone else is still getting more movies. Guardians 3, Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, Thor 4 (jesus christ), Spiderman 3. Covid certainly delayed the onslaught of neverending capeshit but rest assured its all still in the pipeline lol

Lol everyone flipping out over the portal scene when it s basically the equivalent of an action figure commercial for infantilised adults

It’s a decent movie but I would still rather watch any of the old 80s Batman or Superman films.

Hold onto your panties
Holy shit this shit is long. Why did they think people who like mindless superhero set pieces would want to listen to dozens of scenes of people just sitting and talking about shit. Fuck you wachowski brothers
I find most Marvel and nearly all super hero movies to be tedious. The time it takes to tell the story of how someone got their powers needs to span more than 2-hours? Action movies used to be great (for me) because they were able to convey their message in less-than 1-hour & 20-minutes. It was also a standard with the MPAA to push producers to edit movies down to that time. Yes, you really could make a better movie. I feel if it's going to be long...make it into a mini-series. I'm sick of fiction movies that are over 2-hours long.

Justifiable/reasonable candidates for longer run-times:

-Documentaries/Biographies

...that's all I got.

Stark sacrificing himself and staying dead was horseshit. So much of his baggage was not being able to reconcile/say goodbye to his father and then he just ups and does the same thing to his own kid? And the rest of the Avengers despite having access to time travel and the Infinity stones just let him stay dead? Total nonsense. I know a lot of people try to say that this was the end of his arc because he learns to be the guy that is willing to sacrifice himself like Cap brought up in the first Avengers film but Tony has been that guy since Iron Man 1 and has been willing to do it several times since including that Avengers film.

Cap's whole thing is that he can't ignore people in need and then he just decides nah I am going to do just that and to hell with everybody else. I mean the creative team can't even agree on how that crap even worked. The Russos indicated that that all these movies were taking place in altered timeline already and thus Old Man Cap was actually already around which means the two of them lied about Peggy's disease to young Cap. Freaking gross. The writers on the other hand say he was just in another timeline and then came back but that means Cap basically doomed another timeline to have to deal with Thanos again. Now I love Mackie's Falcon but Cap giving the shield to a guy who's never been more than a yes-man who just does what Cap wants him to do is silly. Cap was always willing to challenge and go against orders or his friends if he felt it was the right thing.

Hulk gets no real substantial conclusion to what happened in Infinity War and we don't get to see Hulk and Banner finally come to an understanding. We're just told about it and considering everybody assumed Hulk was just too afraid to fight Thanos again you would think that would certainly be addressed since according to the Russos that was a completely incorrect reading of the situation. To make things even worse, Smart Hulk ends up devoid of everything that made him in interesting in the comics and not once do we get anything from an action perspective that shows just how formidable Smart Hulk can be. He's an afterthought and comic relief which is all he's ever been in the MCU when Whedon isn't writing him.

Hawkeye isn't so much a problem with an ending to his arc, although how they plan to explain the Kate Bishop shit will be interesting going forward, but he gets almost nothing to do. We get the great sequence of him losing his family but then he just becomes mopey vigilante dude. Why didn't we ever get a scene of him reading the riot act to the rest of the Avengers?. Hawkeye is supposed to be the guy with perspective who sees what everybody else can't but we get none of that. Just lukewarm stuff with him and Natasha. I'm not even going to get into her mess.

And Thor. Alright, the angle of him sinking into depression, self-loathing, etc. for not being able to stop Thanos is sound. The execution though is freaking nails on a chalkboard with possibly the worst resolution ever. HIs Mom basically tells him he's only really good at hitting things and he was not, nor ever will be, fit to be King of Asgard so he passes the throne off to former alcoholic slave trader he's known for like a couple days in Asgardian time. Yeah, he's sticking around but as the end to his primary story arc, because let's be real nothing substantial is going to be done with him going forward, it's bloody terrible.

Not to mention all the smaller things that don't get paid off. Did they even try to fix Vision? What was Shuri doing in those last few seconds? We get nothing on that and what we do get in regards to Vision is pretty meh. Scarlet Witch raging at a Thanos that had nothing to with Vision's death has no emotional weight to it.

Rocket loses his entire family and aside from connecting with Nebula briefly we don't get much with him either.

Dear lord Nebula, what a complete and utter waste. The fact that her and Drax get no substantial payback or interactions with Thanos is a goddamn travesty. All that buildup with Nebula and just nothing.

Obviously, you can't give everything time but considering the whole movie is whole of lot nothing before an awful end fight it's just incredibly galling.

I wonder if we'll ever even see those movies in this post-Covid era.

Neighbours from Hell
I loved both of them, but admittedly you need to give them some liberties for both movies for them to make sense.

Not only was the Star Lord part in IW dumb, but Dr. Strange could’ve easily just rewound time and told him to not be an asshole and ruin the plan.

And yes I know Dr. Strange went through all outcomes and found the only one where they win, that was clearly put in there to explain off that plot hole. They could’ve taken the glove, destroyed all the stones, game over for Thanos. Also Thanos happened to leave the heroes alive who could concoct a plannto go back in time and save everyone.

In Endgame, had to take some liberties with the time travel and somehow they can keep the stones and travel through time with them. Also why did Tony’s Iron Man suit have notches for the stones if he had no idea he’d ever have to use them, and not only that but that suit was not built to handle the stones compared to the infinity gauntlet specifically made for it and even that got destroyed. The iron man suit wouldn't have been able to activate the stones.

But I thought both were fun. IW was better because it had more Thanos, pure and simple.
