Despite the now-stale "free roaming" gameplay, I'm actually enjoying the game more than the original. The progression seems a lot smoother, and the cars seem to handle a bit better as well.

Has anyone tried it online (PS2) yet? Or is it already dead thanks to kiddies using GameSharks to instantly have the fastest car on the planet?

Definitely gets alot more hate and not near enough love that it diserves. 3rd favorite racer this year and B03 is 4th.

but seriously, I still haven't got around to playing this extensively. I played it for a few hours but got distracted by other games. Maybe I'll go back to it.

I would have bought this if it had custom soundtrack. I rented it and it plays pretty well...I enjoyed the free roam and challenging others aspect of it (kinda like TXR, ne pas?), and the customization seems decent.

But I can't get over the music...I can't stand slowjams, especially for a racing game. And it's not like other racers where the racing experience ends after a race...you're cruising around town as well.

May seem like an anal complaint, but the money saved will go towards another AAA game like MGS3.

Anyway, NFSU 2 is fucking garbage and among the worst racers I`ve played in a long time. The game seems to use almost no textures at all, the framerate is all over the place and must average no more than 15fps. Even the 7.4 it got from Gamespot was way too high.

This game is just a big joke and I can`t understand how any racing game game fan can like it.

Probably because EA didn't want to pay any other celebrities for Brooke Burke to act alongside.

Where the hell did this come from? Both RBR and TOCA 2 are on the Xbox and PC. The Xbox version of RBR has bad slowdown so yes it is not only better graphically on the PS2 but the wheel is why RBR is my favorite racing game as it nearly unplayable with a controler. I am upgrading my PC just for RBR so its not just a PS2 thing buddy. TOCA2 is also great with the wheel and I will pick up the PC version of that too once I am upgraded. Only difference in Xbox and PS2 version's of TOCA2 is that the xbox has slightly sharper textures and I mean SLIGHTLY. Both run at a sweet 60fps and both have nice AA. I never said anything bad about TOCA2 on xbox but I did have the PAL PS2 version first. None of the games I listed are PS2 only so fuck off.

What system are you running it on? Its a solid 30fps on my PS2.
