I found the cringiest scene in video game history.

Someone took a Pixar meme and thought it was a good idea to make an entire cutscene out of it?

Bruh, I knew the new Battletoads was a bit off but I'm not sure what's worse. Is this what Boomers who wrote this thought was funny, or is it that kids today consider that to be funny?

Truth be told "suck my friggin' butt" and "chug my dump truck" are pretty decent one liners.
Maybe if you are minus 10 years old.

The new battletoads seems like the perfect game for switch soyboys to play while eating froot loops and watching saturday morning cartoons while their wives spend the weekend with their boyfriends. The only problem is it's on xbox.

Why did I enter this thread. The cringe is too strong.

Omg lol OP have you been getting off to this dudes tweets. No kink shame of course. Is this the dude that makes the cartoon porn ads you always see.

I dunno, it was so unexpected I laughed like a maniac. Actually, I'm still laughing at the sheer gratuitousness of it.

That's the tone of the whole game BTW.
And you know Rare would have done something like that in the 80s if they were making the game on home computers instead of the NES.

I still think Otocan's weird, creepy, cringey, and often bizaare never ending cutscene in MGS2, after his sister dies, still takes the top spot for me. The whole parrot thing is downright hilarious.

Final fantasy X

you know what scene
Nope, I finished the whole game and I don't remember any cringe beside Wakka. Do you mean the Blitzball scene on the beach near the beginning?

edit: yeah, I watched the scene again, it is pretty cringe.

I nominate FF7R - Noise dispute with cultist neighbor.

I can't for the life of me fathom how this game was so well received. What an absolute turd.

"Princess Beach" takes the cake for me regarding gaming's cringiest scenes. I didn't think the video in the OP was anything worse than most of the dialogue in Bulletstorm.

I probably should've laughed at this but I was still weirded out by the Colonel's codec calls at the time I played it.

Oh, definitely. Kojima has a history of one upping himself when it comes to cringey lines and scenes. The man has a supernatural talent for it.

Whenever you mention video games and cringe in the same sentence, there's always a Sonic related event that will upstage anything you're thinking of.

Let's just pick this one, why not.

Cringiest scene I've seen so far? Uncharted 2 when the "babe" who looks like your British librarian aunt in a raven black mullet wig with an inflated ass seduces Drake in the first montage of scenes.

I haven't got very far into FFX but everything related to wakka has had one side of my mouth hanging slackly open the whole time so far...

Naaahhh, the Kinactimals reveal was way more cringe.

Just look at this please:

I really wanna know what the mechanic is that is causing this girl to.. Do that... With that guy in the background... Is it some kinect... Version of rock band: gestural vocalist?

HERETIC!

Chloe needs an inflated ass because she shits all over Elena

Yeah, I couldn't stand him. What really aggravates me about him is his idle animation in combat where he constantly wipes his noses with his whole forearm, it looks absolutely ridiculous.

Now I'm just picturing a wrinkly aunt in a black mullet wig with pink balloons taped to her ass taking a dump in the andes.. right from the sphincter perspective.. God damn you

Holy shit, it started bad with Battleloads, but it somewhat got way worse as the posts went on. Fuck this thread.

Oh here's one:

MASTER CHIEF: Driving through a giant steel tunnel

CORTANA: "This tunnel is not a natural formation. It must lead somewhere."

13 yr old me: WHA-BA-DOOEY, CORTANAA

That FF10 laughing scene makes sense in context. It's not cringey.
I have 100% FFX multiple times. Getting all the celestial weapons, killing all the Dark Aeons, doing all the monster arena, it is one of my all time fave FF games. It has a great story, great combat, great characters, but that scene is definitely cringe even in context.

I laughed, I think the voice actress nailed the delivery.

It is. It's supposed to. That's the context. That's the whole point. Tidus at that point especially is near insanity after all and through 90% of the game he just rolls with the punches. That's why Yuna suggests it. Doing something utterly ridiculous as a form of escapism.

How is this scene cringe? Do you even know how people react to traumatic events? Honestly, this is my favorite scene in the game, very heartbreaking but filled with hope.
It is probably the actors and how they act it imo. It could have been much better.

I know all that, it is still cringe. I know I cringed the first time I saw it.

I know all that, it is still cringe.

And I disagree.

Also in terms of fake, forced laughter that was spot on imo. Don't know what the actors could have done better.
