crazy that the doctors didn't immediatly recognise this, in the UK there's quite a lot of knowledge around strokes i feel, there are adverts on TV telling you how to recognise if someone is having one etc.
I hope you recover well and everything is ok.
oh god. oh god. oh god. Well, I know what I will never do again. Let that chance be almost non-existent, that is still too high, geez.Oh my God
You Just described my nightmare. I have a twitch that I snap my own neck constantly.
Since my neurology teacher saw me doing he told me "you are going to dissect you vertebral artery if you keep doing this".
I trying to do less, but sometimes I can't control. Once I had a huge headache and I almost went to the hospital, fearing the worst. It was nothing though...yet.
Good luck to you and I hope for the best
Was it a TIA or did your brain took any damage from it?
oh god. oh god. oh god. Well, I know what I will never do again. Let that chance be almost non-existent, that is still too high, geez.
All the best wishes for you OP.
My brain took damage. Some of which according to the neurologists will heal rather quickly. Others may take months or longer.
Fun fact: showering sends such odd mixed messages to my brain that it makes me not want to shower. Imagine half of your body enjoying a nice hot shower and the other half feeling coolish/warm temperature water. It's utterly bizarre and the first shower I took after having my stroke made me freak the fuck out. Luckily the hospital had Ativan on tap. 50MG of delaudid and 10MG of Ativan knocked me on my ass but I was having a really hard time after my first shower.
I don't have the same reaction now but it's still really weird feeling. I took a hot bath the other day and I felt pretty good afterward but I only felt the hot water on my left side.
It's all just so surreal.
It's the age, I believe, that makes it unlikely to be a stroke and they misdiagnose based on that.
Have you tried Drplaying games since then? It could be good to work your hand/brain coordination back up.
My brother brought me my PC (mini ITX i7/GTX1080) and monitor for my nearly month long hospital stay. I had my ROG Swift on the tray table since for the majority of the time I didn't need to use it to eat due to being fed through the core pack.
I used it to talk to girlgaf and browse the Internet and look at YouTube videos of food. I was too depressed to play games. It would have been a great time to catch up on my back log.
🇺🇸How much did this set you back?
Yeah. This just reminds me how US is the most fucked up developed country (those costs...). Also yeah strokes can happen at any age. My friend died of stroke 6 years ago when he was 20. And he had absolutely massive stroke. He finished eating, stood up from the table, walked couple of meters and fell down to the floor dead.
How much did this set you back? Hope you are well now.
What happens in the US if you have no insurance and no money?
Do they just leave you to die?
Oh my....you have really been through it haven't you.
I pray that you are over the worst of it.
Do you have family/friends around you to support you?
Please, please take care of yourself.

If you got to the ER they have to treat you. They tend not to treat you well. Then they will hound you for the rest of your life for the 100,000 dollars you racked up on your two night stay and shove you out the door to see specialists...who won't see you unless you have insurance or pay up front, so you wait until your dying again and go to the ER...rinse repeat.
