I just bought a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan. What do you drive? (Also what do you think of Volkswagen in general?)

I gotta say, man, I'm absolutely in love. Took it for its first drive today while going to my aunt's for Christmas Eve. Only 40k miles on it, and it drives like a champ. Prior to this I was in a 2009 Pontiac Vibe and then a 2011 Honda Civic. Love having simple features like bluetooth capabilities and back-up camera, etc.

My first whip was a 1987 Mercury Tracer hatchback. It was the reason I made sure I grabbed a Hatchback with my Vibe before that got into a bad wreck. I think these compact SUVs are totally dope and the perfect blend of storage and size without being complete gas guzzlers. Also I'm imagining this handles quite well in the snow. I'm looking forward to that. I'm partial to Volkswagen in general, you don't see too many of 'em around these parts. Anywho, this was my little Christmas present to myself. It'd been a rough year. Time to go MILF hunting in this bad boy once quarantine lifts.

2013 Toyota Prius. Almost 2 years. My first car.

As for Volks... Eh. Never caught my interest. They seem fine enough, though.

I 'had' a MK7 GTI
I loved it, will always love it. Will be always love it and say its my favorite car. (And I'll try to grab a used one in a year or two as a project)

But, I hit 80k miles this year and it just decided no amount of money will make it 'work right

I spent $11k in repairs from Jan-Oct this year alone (new engine, ECU, etc..) Prob another 2-3 grand in Ubers, tows, rentals everytime it shit the bed and died on the way to and from work randomly.

I cleared the codes, took it to Honda and got $10k for it and got a Civic Ex.
Fucking sucks... I miss my hot hatch rocket and the compliments it got me 😭

Yeah GTI's are sexy as shit man. Such a performance beast.

RIP to yours. Enjoy the Civic though, Hondas are hella-reliable.

2013 Infiniti G37X with AWD.
Bought it with very low miles good blend of power and handling that you can also drive in the snow.
People don‘t realize how fast this car is until they drive it.
Yes its a older car but still looks great in my eyes

2021 Subaru Ascent. Thing is a wizard, and it drives itself. Other cars is a 2019 Hyundai Elantra.

My buddy had a Volkswagen Jetta years ago and we put that thing through hell but it kept driving. Volkswagen makes great vehicles.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
I leased a 2017 tiguan for 3 yrs and am leasing 2019 i think currently.

awesome cars. Biggest gripe is the center armrest area.

in the 2019 model they combined the tiggy and taureg, making it a bit bigger. Its the perfect midsize suv imo

Ever driven an Atlas? Shit is blissful

Not an SUV, but the same could be said for their Arteon. Beautiful luxury vehicle

I own a 2008 Golf GT Sport. I bought it used in 2013 with 50,000k's on the clock. It's great to drive and has only eaten one starter motor and had a cooling fluid sump cover leak repaired in that time. It has also had the head lining fall off, lining fall off on all four doors, sunroof malfunctions and opens/closes randomly without user interaction, tailgate sensor works half the time disabling the rear wiper when it doesn't, left rear door locking mechanism is faulty and can't be locked, all four wheel badges have fallen off, driver compartment handle was so brittle it basically turned into fragments when opening it one afternoon, right rear brake light blows out every year, centre console slide cover handle broke off retracting the cover I to its housing and can't be retrieved. That's probably about it. As a 6 speed manual transmission turbo diesel it's absolutely fantastic to drive. I'll never own a VW again because of it though.

Edit: totally forgot - the ignition also broke so that the whole housing rotated and thr car couldn't be started. Had to wait a few weeks for a part to be imported for that to be resolved.

2016 Lexus GS for the last 3.5 years that I’ll probably keep for another 8-10 years until I no longer need a 4 door sedan. And then it’s off to a 2door coupe.

I drive a 2020 Subaru Forester. Bought this summer. Was a nice upgrade from my 2015 Honda Fit. Loved the Fit, was super efficient and could fit into tiny parking spots.

But having all the modern tech, AWD and ground clearance is awesome! Driving in the rain is such a better experience.

Hi there teezzy teezzy !!

I really enjoy VW, they are my favorite car brand, I mean cars I could actually own someday. I love their aesthetics, especially the interior. They don’t try to look like a spacecraft, they are clean and elegant.

My first car was a 2012 Polo Sportline. I got it in December 2014. Drove it until two days ago when I got a brand new white Polo, not the highest trim level because they are crazy expensive and I can’t afford it. They have that all digital gauge cluster that I’m not a big fan for now.

Also, I didn’t want an automatic car, so I got the 1.6 non-turbo version, the only one with manual transmission. It’s incredible what 8 years of technology does to car, it’s actually even more because the project of my old Polo is older than 2012.

The new one is amazing, it drives well, feels much sturdier, more silent, safer and has great fuel economy. I love it!

I plan to keep this car for the next 8 years at least.

Hi TTOOLL TTOOLL

My uncle was a VW mechanic growing up, and my neighbor had the coolest Passat Sportwagen when I was growing up. I was fascinated. They're awesome cars. Underappreciated here in the states, imho. The bug and bus are iconic.

Merry Christmas from one VW enthusiast to another. If you've got a panoramic sunroof, be sure to have your water drains cleared with routine maintenance. You'll thank me later.

I'm excited for the ID.4 and especially the ID Buzz

VW is hoping to bring electric vehicles to the everyman in the upcoming years. Could be something worth paying attention to.

Look how bonkers that is!

And heres the ID.4

Pretty cool tbh. They're tryna be hip again

No panoramic sunroof here lol, it’s a simple car. Dude, the US is like tier 1 in car industry, I mean you get all the new models and latest technology at a reasonable price.
Brazil is like tier 34. We do get the new stuff but the prices are insane. A brand new Corolla is like 100k BRL at least. That’s like 100x the minimum wage here. Corollas there are what 25k USD?

In UK we see VW as decent hatchbacks, built well, solid on the road

Who doesn't love a decent golf gti

But these mpv or whatever are dumb, that's basically a golf with more weight and a shit centre of gravity

Not my cup of tea, but I don't have a family to drive about

I am Become Bilbo Baggins
I currently drive a 2019 Mercedes C-Class.

However, if I get this new job I'm going for then I'm really thinking of getting a Tesla Model X next year.

All the major companies lie and cheat. VW just got caught.
You're actually right, which makes it even worse. All the companies have been sneakily polluting even more than promised and ruining everyone's air quality and health and were getting away with it until VW got caught. By all rights they should be sued by major governments and bankrupted but I suppose electrification is going to destroy a lot of these dinosaur companies anyways within a decade or two so it will work out.

I drive a 2005 Volkswagen Polo with a naturally aspirated diesel engine. 1.9 SDI
I'll drive this thing until it falls apart. It has what I need. Air conditioning, power steering and absolute bulletproof engine.
I love that engine. Basically, a naturally aspirated diesel engine is a thing of the past, they just don't make em anymore. The thing with them is, they're slow as a week in jail but absolutely bombproof.
And I love that tractor sound.

I’m rocking a 21 civic type r. Cool car but it’s my first stick so it’s hard to really enjoy the car’s performance when I’m so worried about not fucking up the transmission. Much more confident in traffic now though...palms were getting really sweaty for a while there lol

I have a 2011 BMW 3 series. I don't drive much these days and it was paid off a long time ago, so I don't see much sense in buying a new car

I like VWs generally but I always assumed the cost of ownership was high, like any other German brand, but without as much of the...idk, fanfare of brands like Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc.

VW has some of the most reliable cars for entry level/popular models, at least in emerging countries.

A Gol, which is kind of a simpler, cheaper and smaller version of the Golf is one of the most used cars around here... it's pretty decent if you ask me. There's the Fox, Polo and CrossFox as well, all of them simpler but reliable cars.

2006 BMW 330ci 6spd with performance package (ZHP). Had it since 10/2012 and still love it. My now ex-wife and I ordered a 2021 Merc GLB 250 but that’s just going to be hers now. Supposed to come in late January.

I’ll be looking to add a 4-5 year old compact luxury crossover to my fleet in a year or so. Probably Acura RDX but will check all of them out.

It drives quite well, but for the price they are asking the interior is very meh.

When you compare base model X with basic autopilot with base BMW X7 with similar basic autopilot, same price but BMW looks much nicer.
