I just got counseled for workplace sexual harassment

Was said slightly jokingly but then what would you call someone who did nothing wrong yet takes the punishment without a fight?

OP seems far too laid back for what is quite a serious allegation.

There was nothing in your post that indicates the "wuss" comment was a joke. In this situation being talked to is fairly small consequence, it isn't even going on his record. Now if he were to escalate things his actions would go on his record and ultimately force this situation to go on his record. Do you see the folly here?
Being level headed and not escalating to an extreme doesn't mean he's a "wuss". It means he' mature and intelligent enough to realize he'd only harm himself "fighting" being spoken to.

Something similar happened to my dad. Unfortunately he had nobody to tell him to stay away from her (my dad has aspergers). So he tried talking to her later that week to apologize for the misunderstanding & she reported him again. He got fired

It's funny to me because my dad is like the least sexual being on earth more interested in machines than people. He had another job within a week.

Yup. My boss would have to do a formal counseling the second time around (for the same offense). In a situation like this, flags would be raised and there would be an investigation into my conduct. Given the facts I think I would be safe from any punishment but military investigations are never fun.

Would simply having an investigation occur have any negative effects on your career? Even if it doesn't result in punishment?

Yes. In the case of sexual harassment and workplace conduct, an absolutely yes. Pending an investigation I would be grounded and not be able to fly. I would be removed from the office/building and temporarily working elsewhere in another job. It will affect promotion (if the investigation is going on during the promotion bracket) and because I cant fly I would lose flight pay if I did not make my minimum hours. If I was slated to move to another duty station (let's just say I had planned everything to a tee and would move with my family), I would immediately be put on a legal hold. I wouldn't be going anywhere. It would be a difficult time for all involved.

Hm. Not familiar with those acronyms. Army?
Airforce. Sounds like what we would call an LOC though.

Letter of counseling. A slap on the wrist.
Letter of reprimand is much worse.
And then of course you have your Article 15. The career killer.

Ah! I got'cha.

Counseling entry: Paperwork just between you and your immediate supervisor. Can be NCO's, Senior enlisted, or Officer. Will not go into official records.
Page 11: Serious. Letter signed by the Commanding Officer. In record for life.
Article 15 NJP: Pack it in. You're outta' here.

That sounds terrible. What happens after the investigation? Does everything more or less return to how they were before?

I have been working last week with my zipper open for several days. It is not my fault that it got stuck and company is too greedy to supply us with additional pair of working uniform pants :p
