So yeah, I'm in trouble for something that's total bullshit and I might lose my use of the home computer that I'm normally allowed to use.
Yesterday my brother got a piece of mail that was apparently a check. My brother wasn't home when it came but my mom was and she looked at this piece of mail that was adressed from somewhere in Nigeria. My brother came home and fought with my mom argueing over what the check is about, he tells her he's doing something for a charitable organization *cough* Bullshit *cough* He goes downstairs to use the phone in the room I'm using the computer and he tells me he took a loan for $5,000 in Ohio and he didn't want my mom to know he took the loan because he knew she would be pissed off. He told me he lied to her about the "charitable organization."
I figured ok, if he's embarassed he took out a loan he's probably not going to be able to pay off, fine. I won't say anything about it. I'll cover for him. It's his ass, not mine. Or so I thought at the time.
He got on the phone to call his friend and his girlfriend, he couldn't get ahold of his girlfriend so he left after checking his email and going to a banks website. Later my stepdad walked downstairs to ask me about a piece of paper he found on the counter in the kitchen upstairs that my brother printed out from a yahoo conversation. The paper had an adress on it from Nigeria also. Before this point I had no idea that Nigeria had anything to do with my brothers lying about a charity, or taking a loan in Ohio for $5000. I still don't, but I know SOMETHING is up, I just don't know what. He asks me about that and I tell him I don't know, which is the truth. He asks me what I DO know and I didn't tell him because I didn't think it was anything serious at this point.
He goes upstairs and tells my mom I wouldn't tell him anything and my mom yells at me to get upstairs. I do so and when I do she starts fucking SCREAMING at me about what I know and talking about people possibly doing illegal shit on our computer (people = my brother) she thinks the check from Nigeria means my brother is involved in some sort of scam. Which by the way, sounds like it could possibly be accurate but my brother would be on the victim end. I've heard of people getting emails asking to sent money to foreign countries to people who have much MORE money that they just need to get out of the country and once they do, they give you a large portion of it. That is a scam, if it's what my brother is falling for, I don't know. If he needed to take a $5000 loan to pay for it, I don't know.
So my mom thinks my brother is doing something illegal and now she thinks I'm covering his ass. I tell her everything he told me about the loan, about him telling me how he lied to her. She doesn't believe me, especially because earlier I asked her "what's wrong with (my brothers name)?" to see if she would tell me more information on where the fuck my brother was going with the charity lie.
So she went downstairs and ripped the keyboard and mouse out of the computer and says the computer is going to be ripped out of the wall as well. She doesn't want any of the people in my family going on it, especially my older brother who this revolves around, and me, because she thinks I have something to do with it. There's screaming back and forth, she makes the general comments about how her kids lie to her and think she's stupid and good for nothing. I constantly remind her I'm not the one who got a check from some country in Africa. She makes an empty threat about me calling my dad because she's not going to take care of me anymore. I'm crying and I'm looking for a number I can get ahold of my brother at so I can bitch him out and get her to tell her I don't have anything to do with what he's doing.
I called his girlfriend and she told me she didn't know anything about it, and that he was called into work. I know for a fact he was called into work but he didn't go because when he left, he didn't have his uniform on. She was also lying about having no knowledge as to what my brother was up to... bitch.
So yeah... I'm going to be able to use the computer at school to post but when I'm at home, I have to wait till my mom and stepdad leave and use my spare mouse and onscreen keyboard. I don't know if they're going to get rid of the computer or not. I just figured I'd share my plight. ;_;
