I miss David Cage's narrative masterpieces.

What happened with him anyway? Their Star Wars game has been stuck in what appears to be a limbo for years now. We used to have at least one movie game from them every 5 years or so, but they've been dead silent since 2018.

C'mon Dave. I need me some Cage kino already!

He got cancelled and Sony wouldn't work with him during the peak era. A shame because after the success of Detroit they would have done another AAA game with him.

I personally miss Yoko Taro.

I love his story telling......I really want new game from him soon.

Only he can save us from Neil Druckman !!!!
Even with all his dumb ideas (not to mention the plothole-ridden story in Heavy Rain), I'd still take his writing over Druckmann's any day of the week.

While we're at it, here's my old thread about why Cage is a much better game director than Kojima. Eat your hearts out, strandbros:

Had Heavy Rain stuck the landing it would definitely be in the conversation. But my god did they fuck that up.
I bought it on launch day due to hype. Played it 11 hours or so STRAIGHT. Non stop. Same day. Finished it. What a wild ride. Yeah there was parts that I did Not care for. Like being the FBI agent felt meh. But it left me feeling like I'd been on quite the adventure

I think premise-wise, David´s games felt ahead of their time; like videogames that were trying to engage with the interactivity of the medium, so one could have excused the awkward, lackluster writing/gameplay. I remember playing Indigo Prophecy and being hooked not necessarily with the delivery of the game but as an experience that felt avant-garde (not in a pretentious way) but more like: "Video games are new art form, where fresh ideas are being implemented and explored, especially in terms of gameplay and mechanics"

Heavy Rain did screw up the ending, but it was one of PS3's better first party games.

I can not imagine Sony would take a risk on a project like that today.

Enjoyed all of them. Haven't played the The Dark Pictures Anthology games yet but they look interesting by the makers of Until Dawn.

I really enjoyed all of them. Playing the Fahrenheit demo and seeing how interactive it was using that movie set was very impressive to me back then. The end section of the game went crazy and kinda felt weird, plus forced stealth is a big negative to me no matter how small. The game also introduced me to Theory of a Deadman with the guitar mini game.

Most of them did, of course, have 1 or 2 parts that were a bit shite / slow, but overall, great games.

Weren't they doing a Star Wars game years ago? Or was that cancelled? I don't have any love for Star Wars, but a game by that team I would play it regardless.

Why? Because you can't have a good narrative along with some semi-decent gameplay?

Does a game have to be like a Sega CD FMV "press button to continue the video" in order to achieve a good narrative?

That's assuming we agree the narrative is good in those games to begin with.

I loved Detroit, like heavy rain and indigo prophecy, never played beyond. I like those games a lot and respect what he tried to do. I think we need more games from that studio, the star wars game looked bonkers.

Those games were fun, the acting was not that great in Heavy Rain, but it was pretty good in Detroit. I would like to play another game from Quantic Dreams.

More Detroit, less heavy rain. Also my exes friend was stoned as shit at our place seven I was playing it and got hyped as fuck at the scene where you break into the TV station and state your demands. Like REALLY hype. 10/10 moment for me at least lol
