TheExodu5 said:God damn this cooler is amazing. Stressing all 4 cores with 2 instances of Orthos. Load temps are 38, 43, 37, 38. :lol
I don't understand how my load goes up by like 3C over idle.
I NEED SCISSORS said:How loud is that cooler? I just got a Scythe Shuriken because it's a mere 35dB under load, but it cools my CPU less effectively than the stock cooler.
I feel that for coolers you're either in the market for a quiet one or an effective one. I'd just like to know what I missed out on as yours looks pretty good.
Schlomo said:Could you elaborate on this? I'm currently finding it hard to decide between the 955, the 965 and the i5 750.
Here in Germany the prices are:
945 C3: 128 Euro
955 C3: 132 Euro
965 C3: 150 Euro
i5 750: 160 Euro
I've read that in most benchmarks the 965 performs comparable to or better than the i5 750. So why is the i5 750 the better deal?
I should mention that I'm building the PC primarily for gaming (Superior PC Versions and Dolphin/PCSX2 emulators).
I can imagine. Big fan + slow speed often results in low noise.TheExodu5 said:It's a 120mm fan spinning at 1400rpm and keeping my temps at 38C. It's extremely quiet (could run it at much lower speeds...but it's basically the same speed as my case fans right now).

Lkr said:I'm on stock cooling and I want to put the 4th core on my 720BE instead of OCing. Right now I'm at 3.2GHz with 1.275V. I have already tested my 4th core for stability, but I don't know what voltage to use.
Gully State said:Quick (and potentially stupid) question...can I run Rivatuner while CCC is running or should I uninstall CCC altogether? I'm a little hesitant to uninstall CCC because I've got dual monitor setup and there were some settings I had to mess with under CCC to get it running properly..

Anyways I'm hitting a wall...and my northbridge isn't the problem. My problem is my memory. I have 2 good sticks and 2 shitty stick...problem is my good sticks are just 2x1GB.
I can't adjust my RAM ratio for some reason. Also, loosening the timings makes it so my computer doesn't boot. I'll attribute these problems to Q8300 + 1333fsb only being supported by my beta firmware.
SuperEnemyCrab said:Did u try upping the voltage to the RAM? And did u go out and buy that new CPU like immediately after seeing your board supported it?![]()
TheExodu5 said:Yes and yes.
It's weird...upping to 2.0V makes it even more unstable. Thing is, I shouldn't have to up the voltage at all...I'm running within specification and Orthos still gives me rounding errors.
brain_stew said:Ofcourse you can, what made you believe you'd need to uninstall CCC?

WickedLaharl said:okay i missed a connection called atx 12v 2x4.
i'll connect that and report back if it fixed the problem or not.
SuperEnemyCrab said:thats awesome, about the CPU that is, not the memory. It could be the beta bios for sure though. Or maybe back off on the timings? (nevermind, i see you tried that)
WickedLaharl said:ahh, well, that was the problem. power is no longer fluctuating!
now i just need to hook a display into it and see if i get anything on screen.
Me too. Another good one is forgetting to connect the power button on the case to the motherboard.Shambles said:Hopefully the heart attack is over. This is something i've done myself![]()

I just ran Windows index again. I just got a 6.0 for graphics on a hd 5850 :lol what the fuck

scitek said:This is something else new to me: HDMI audio. I'm playing Mirror's Edge and not hearing the voices, only the surround channels, I think. Is it supposed to be outputting in Dolby Digital or something? I'm outputting to a receiver.
brain_stew said:Does your receiver support multi channel LPCM over HDMI? Have you configured within the Windows control panel for surround sound? Got the latest realtek HDMI audio driver?
scitek said:Yes, no, and just the one that came on the disc with the mobo. I'll check for new drivers.
