Dosia said:So I attempted to build my friends PC yesterday and when I went to mount the mobo to the case there were no screws provided. Only stand-offs were provided. Is this common? Seems a bit idiotic to me.

RurouniZel said:So, thinking about building a new PC. Here's what I'm currently looking at.

My questions:
1) How does that look here? Good? Bad? WTF am I doing?
2) I've no idea what I should buy to properly cool a system like this. Any suggestions?
Nabs said:filipe: did you originally have a gigabyte motherboard as well? just wondering. I honestly have no idea what it could be.

RurouniZel said:I wasn't aware, I must have not read the spec right. What speed would be better?
Well both are 7200RPM AFAIR, but green is quieter and slower.RurouniZel said:I wasn't aware, I must have not read the spec right. What speed would be better?

Any thoughts on cooling the CPU? I've never built a computer strong enough that it would need cooling...

Manp said:what!? so last time you built a computer must have been in 1994...
RurouniZel said:About 2003 actually, but I was intentionally building a cheap, low end, inexpensive machine that could not play any games whatsoever.
Corky said:But it had to have had a cooler I guess?
RurouniZel said:I think it came with a small fan, but that was sufficient as it was just a 700 Mhz processor. This is a whole new ballgame, and I've no idea if a fan or liquid would be better and if so, what type would be best, or if one is harder to implement than the other.
TouchMyBox said:I have a corsair H50 to cool that CPU and it's pretty fantastic. Pretty much any decent air cooler will do the job though.
Corky said:Not that I'm an employee of Cooler Master Inc ( visit us at coo....) BUT I'll toss in another vouch for the hyper 212+ cooler, for 30$ the decrease in sound is it in itself worth the price.
kagete said:Another vote for the 212+. This bitch is huge though, so not all cases can fit it

I've set up two mice at the same time before, so yes, that's perfectly possible, works the same as trackpad+mouse. Two keyboards should work as well, laptops don't have any issue with it, so I don't see why a desktop should.Reallink said:Hey guys, stupid question time. Can you plug 2 mice and 2 kb's (all USB) into a single PC without any conflicts? Obviously my aim is to keep a pair at my desktop and a second pair for HTPC use without having to shuttle a single set back and forth several times a day.
