Tried all of that but the OS... Flash doesn't even work without a camera installed. lol. Really don't want to reinstall the OS...
That seals it. Thanks.
Though if you're just looking for truly high responsiveness from a non-CRT monitor I'd look one of the better-quality 120hz TNs, like the BenQs. If you want an IPS monitor though and you want it to be as responsive as it probably can be (short of 120hz IPS monitors, which would be nice), that Dell is probably your best bet. The price is great and it seems pretty solid all-around, with its responsiveness being the highlight relative to most other similar monitors.
REALISTICALLY, how much do you guys think I could Ebay my current PC for?
i72600K
GTX 560TI
Hyper 212 Fan
Asus Sabertooth P67 R3
8GB Corsair Vengeance
1xIntel 320 Series 120GB SSD
2x WD 1.5TB HDD
CM Haf 922
IF I went through with it and tried to sell, what do you think I could get for it at this point?
I was thinking at the least $1150
I'm on the same boat as you.
I'd be surprised if there was a tangible difference between 2500k and 3820k in games.
I'm on the same boat as you. When the kepler cards drop I want to sell my current setup to put towards an i7-3820/Kepler build. I just want to build something fucking crazy while I'm young and can spend the money :lol.
My current setup is:
i5-2500K
HD6950 2GB Twin Frozr
Asrock Extreme 6 P67
8GB DDR3 1600
2x Samsung spinpoint F3
Coolermaster Haf X
EDIT: The extra power would be for HD encoding for recording/streaming.
quick question, I'm looking to stream high quality games while playing at Max settings but I want to wait for ivy. should I opt for the 6 core could or will the quad core be fine with a high-end card?
since basically 95% of games released for PC are simply console ports, even the quad core ivy bridge would be massive overkill.
but next gen is quickly approaching (in a rather slow manner...if that makes sense) it's rather difficult to say without hard specs to compare against. for Wii U at least 4 core ivy bridge would be fine.
Even with an overclocked 2500K, I can't really manage to stream demanding games like Tera (last game I tried) without killing my framerate.
There must be a better external solution for streaming games.

The HT from the 2600K helps a lot and having some sort of capture card/device helps take some of the load off too but from anyone I've talked to regarding HQ streaming, and I've got to talk to some of the bigger streamers in the FGC, they've just told me that you just need straight up raw power and after that you've just got to play with your settings to find a good mix of stream quality and game performance. I'm told the hard drives you actually use to run xsplit/whatever streaming software from really inpacts on how it'll run. 8 Way run have a great guide up for streaming solutions (it's more on console streaming but it still all applies)
The other option is a 2 PC stream where you play with one and stream with the other but I just personally don't have the room for that.
Second computer with a capture card. It's what we're resorting to.Even with an overclocked 2500K, I can't really manage to stream demanding games like Tera (last game I tried) without killing my framerate.

OC'd to 4.5GHz, under 100% load my CPU's hits 67°C max. Is that alright?
ty yeah I'll go with the Crucial.Intel still seems to have a lower failure rate, but someone mentioned there are still odd cases of problems possibly related to the 8MB bug. An M4 or Samsung 830 still should be faster even on SATA 2.

Kepler (104) launching in (maybe) 4 weeks will not compete with 7970 as the part people expect to come out is the 670Ti which hopefully will be around GTX 580 levels at considerably less cost.So any updates on the whole Kepler vs 7970 recently?
I have been very close to picking up a 7970 but am not sure if a price cut is coming, when Kepler is going to be arriving, what the first Kepler cards will do in comparison to the 7970, etc.
The video card is the last part that I need to complete my build so quite antsy.
Thanks
I've heard they want to push out remaining netbooks, maybe desktop parts won't be delayed?
It's fine.So I found these dirt cheap Corsair ram, $53 AR for 4x4 sticks
http://www.frys.com/product/6695594
Is it worth paying more for 1600 or will these be more than sufficient for the foreseeable future?
I'm thinking Ivy Bridge might not be delayed if AMD actually had a competitive chip in Bulldozer
It's fine.
You can eek out tiny boosts with faster RAM, but for the most part it's not very impactful.
If you are doing something extremely intensive and loading all your cores + threads you will see tangible improvements in processing (Say 3-10%) if you go from 1333 to 1866. If you aren't doing anything of that sort (Games don't count). Then 1333 is fine.
This is basically best case scenario: http://images.anandtech.com/graphs/graph4503/39746.png
Who here owns the dell u2312hm?
If you're still debating on buying it have a look at this pretty comprehensive review:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2312hm.htm
And if it means much to you I've been playing UMvC3/AE 2012/Bemani (IIDX,Pop'n'Music) on a benq xl2420t which has around 5.5ms input lag and it's pretty much perfect. For SF4 under 15ms is within 1 frame of lag, the "Evo Monitor" falls under this too.
I think many people have issues with BF3, you should ask in the thread or try to word your problems. As I was saying about selling my rig, I just bought BF3 and while it's a beautiful game, this current rig is giving me odd framerate drops. I'm having to make a lot of sacrifices to keep the 60FPS.
Seems poorly optimzed or something. I know BF3 uses a lot more technical features than BC2, but BF3 just seems rushed or something. I'd imagine one 680(when it releases) or two 580's would make those problems go away lol
I thought that was just for the netbook chips?

Thanks, from the looks of it I'm definitely going to buy it.

The latest article is still muddy enough to cause confusion, but it really does seem it's manufacturing related (or maybe that's just the excuse they're using) and will impact everything. Intel issuing a statement that says their chips are still releasing in Q2 leaves me extremely skeptical. June is still Q2 and that's that kind of PR I'd expect issued if it had slipped from April.
But everything in that rig is top tier except the GPU. That's the bottleneck. The CPU isn't remotely the issue.
You can't expect a middle-tier card that has equal performance with a 5870 from 2+ years ago to run BF3 fine at 60FPS. Selling the whole rig is a really silly way to fix that. Get yourself a 7970 or wait for the 670/680.As I was saying about selling my rig, I just bought BF3 and while it's a beautiful game, this current rig is giving me odd framerate drops. If you get a 6870 or 560Ti GPU and upgrade to a 650W PSU (CoolerMaster) it's not bad.Guys, its been a long time since I kept up to date with PC hardware and my teenage son is looking to buy a gaming PC soon-ish.
He sent me this link and asked if it was any good, obviously I have no idea but I thought you guys would know.

The GPU is terrible. You can build one yourself for much cheaper.
Would you have time to read the OP?scogoth, would you have time to outline a fairly decent budget gaming PC. Say £500-600 Max?

Hello i won't semi-powerful green pc,low voltage
quick question, I'm looking to stream high quality games while playing at Max settings but I want to wait for ivy. should I opt for the 6 core could or will the quad core be fine with a high-end card?
It's just that I've spent a good amount of time pulling all the information together and just saying 5-600 won't get you the best option if you don't know what it will be used for, etc.heh, I`ll pass it on thanks
Pretty sure 6 cores is better than 4(8 HT). The question is is buying SB-E vs a 2600K ok for you. A 2600K setup will be very capable, but streaming on a system that is playing always will take a decent performance hit.Sorry for the bump but I even tried the xsplit forums as well as some google research with no luck. Any advice?
Absolutely, and I agree
something still seems off with optimization, though.
I set everything to medium and still got drops into the low 40's
