I've gotten in this big argument at work today at lunch with a co-worker. It all started when he mentionned that it was proven that blacks, in general, were less intelligent than white people here in america because the more intelligent blacks were killed during the slavery so as a whole they got less intelligent because only the less intelligents survived and had childrens.

This whole idea disgusted me so we argued for a good moment and right now I'm trying to find some information to debunk this whole thing. I dont see how a couple of hundred years of slavery could have an effect on the intelligence of a certain group of people, I dont think a few hundred years is enough for some evolution to kick in.

Anyone can help me here to debunk this and own this fool?

Yes I know, I've brought this into debate but the fool kept saying that there were studies that was proving this. Then again I questionned him with WHOM did these studies since it could of been done by people with racist agendas.

I need some serious shit studies to debunk this.

I know I feel the same way as you do, he kept mentionning studies that were proving this and that in school in sociology they were talking about this as well.

So I'd love to find some serious studies to prove this wrong.

Well I'm white too but yeah sometimes I do say that in my head. It's sad to see that even though we're in 2005 there is still people who thinks that way.

Maybe you should attack it from the angle of IQ of a given demographic not being set in stone....

How it can change from generation to generation within a certain demographic, and how it varies in a given population corresponding to socioeconomic status and educational opportunities.

Yeah that's great because all I've found were some studies that were showing that blacks had lower I.Qs than whites, hispanic and asians but what you just said pretty much is spot on with what I believe to be the cause of these results.
