Also I own 2 copies on PC. The prepare to die edition and the remaster.

That's 5 copies of the same game.

Is there a helpline for people like me? Someone I can talk to? It's beyond obsession for a 15 year old genre defining GOAT isn't it?

Shit. Forgot I own Switch Dark souls remastered (which is really the 360 version)

That's 6 copies

I've no business owning the same game on so many platforms. I'm ashamed and I've realized it's time to reach out for help

Nah, it just sounds like you are awkwardly flexing on something random for attention. What you're describing isn't unique or problematic, so no "help" is needed. You could've just made a topic asking if people own multiple copies or versions of something. It's actually a cool topic without the strange attention angle.

Just having fun. Sorry 😞 not flexing. Flexing would be if I had Some 5090 and badass setup or something that I do not have. Just was having a laugh. Sorry again

I've triple, quadruple and even quintuple dipped on some games. Between the original and the remake, I own close to a dozen versions of RE1.

Maybe we are a bit crazy. But it's fine.

I only own 3 copies, PS3, Steam & Switch. But would gladly buy again to have an excuse to play it again.

So no need to go hollow brother, you just enjoy peak gaming.

But why does anyone need multiple versions of a remaster? I get Buying the OG and remaster. Sure.

Why multiple versions of the already remaster?

Bought it on launch 360. Played for 5 minutes and got intimidated

Tried once again in 2018 remaster. This time with intent to finish. It now to me is a top 5 game of all time. Ever.
My friend had it watched him play, I could tell I didn't have the patience to even try lol.

Won't lie. This may get me perma banned from "souls community"

Prior to my REAL attempt in 2018 remaster. I watched A FULL playthrough on YouTube. Bc the game is vague as shit. So I knew what I needed To do

Don't tell a soul. Even a dark soul, don't tell em. I'm being honest.

Gamecube, Wii, PS3 boxed, PS3 digital, PS4 digital, Steam, Switch digital

So I can play it on whatever platform I'm currently using without having to unbox an old one is the sanest reason, and there are various perks between them (PC has 60fps, Switch is portable etc) but mainly I just like having one of the best games ever made on all platforms and it's always there if the mood takes me.

I am no Dark souls fans but do admit I have a select few games on 3+ platforms. Normally it's the case where I already own the game and then it comes on super cheap on another. Just off the top of my head

GTA V
Burnout Paradise
Resident Evil 4

and a few others. If you love the game then no harm no fowl.

Why we do that is my wonder. No reason I can think of. Especially if it's just console to console (Xbox and PS5)

Handheld. Ok. I see why then. You want it portable.

Blight town got hate from the fps on 360/ps3. But it's fine

Demon ruins got hated bc it was apparently rushed and copy pasted enemies and such

Demon ruins is amazing still to me. Being in Hell. The asylum firesage. Centipede. Ceaseless discharge. Bed of chaos. Fighting solaire and getting the maggot mask needed for tomb of the giants. I love it. 🥰

Convenience. for me. During my console days I would often like to focus on one console at a time for months. Also some had slight upgrades.

Resident Evil 4 is my worst one:

*Resident Evil 4 (Gamecube platinum edition)
*Resident Evil 4 (Wii until recently it was my favorite edition)
*Resident Evil 4 (Quest edition. By far and away the best version of Resident Evil 4.
*Resident Evil 4 Remake (I was satisfied with the changes)
*Resident Evil 4 Dolphin emulator (4k 120 fps is pretty slick)

lol 😂 my job is just to be goofy and express my love for Dark Souls 1. Goated in every way imaginable

I even LOVE demon ruins and blight town.
I love that shit, too. I had a way better time playing that one, than I did Dark Souls 2. That game… is alright, but there were two areas that genuinely pissed me off. One was in the dlc, the other I think was also in the dlc, lol. Ah well. Still fun, but annoying af.

The only place I felt annoyed with in DS1 was that area at the bottom of everything with all those fucking skeleton wheels. You can get assbashed in that place even if you're geard good.

Good question. I got into Dark Souls after the fact, got it for PC first after getting hooked on Dark Souls 2. (Yeah, I know not the best introduction. But it just made my experience with 1 that much better.) Found a dirt cheap second hand copy for my PS3 a bit later, dusted it off just to get to have the OG experience. And later got the Switch version to enjoy some DS on the porch. 😁

For me I like convenience obviously

But also a new platform gives me a chance for new cheevos too. I'm not a cheevo chaser. But it's a dopamine hit regardless

DS2 is underrated. Majula is goated. Made a topic on this. It's far from a bad game. Maybe to many it's the worst souls games. But when you make 3 masterpieces. One will always be worse.

Seek. Seek. Bearer of.

That game is goated too.

All combined. Not sure. Probably spent 300 hours in Dark Souls.

I've never done all NPC quests. Never beat NG+. Never got all cheevos. Sooo much still to discover. That's why it's goated.

DS2 starts out great for sure but experiencing the interconnecting map of DS1 for the first time knocked my socks off. Still unmatched to this day IMO. All of the games in the series has their high and lows. But can't really go wrong with any of them.

Interconnected world GOAT is obviously DS1

DS2 almost abandoned it. DS3 did some…. But no where close to DS1. Not remotely.

DS1 is the most interconnected world I've ever seen in a game. Ever.

Validation on here is all I needed

I'll throw in I own 4 ports of cyberpunk.

Makes my e-peen bigger hopefully 🤞

Nope, you're good. I own Dragon's Dogma: DA
on PS3, PS4, Switch, PC; all with zero regrets. If you love a game and want to support the dev, it's the best way I would think.

Reminds me of Mass Effect.

I have the original trilogy on 360, and the remaster on PS4, PC and Xbox. Xbox is physical and digital. And I haven't owned a PS4 in like 6 years but I had like $6 in my PSN wallet that I came to find out a couple years ago. So I did what I thought was best. I bought mass effect on sale.

I've also done this many times and I'm really trying to stop. This is why Play Anywhere is a cool feature honestly. I'm not planning on buying any Switch 2 3rd party games either. All of them will get ported eventually. Too many games to keep buying the same thing over and over. Your 1 purchase should work.
