I'm not to fussed about how authentic the games are to the books, the books themselves aren't exactly great in my opinion - the author even admitted that the games took his story and characters to another level even beyond what he had envisioned in the books.

When did Sapkowski say this? All I remember reading was that he kinda resented the games for becoming more popular worldwide than his books and because of the shortsighted licensing deal he made with CDPR prior to TW1, he didn't actually make very much money off of them.

Maybe its all in my head but the first and second game captured perfectly the feeling of the story , witcher 3's atmosphere felt more like i was playing an typical fantasy game except for the No man's land , this world is full of deceit , suffering , dangers lurking everywhere and witcher 3 didnt felt like that

the atmosphere of witcher 1 almost sent me intro a depression , you could really see how conflicts of the world affected the population

i really hope they go back to that type of world and they stay away from high fantasy
Based on sales numbers, not a snowball’s chance in hell.

I hope it will be like The Witcher 3, but it will probably be more similar to DA Veilguard

I'm pretty sure Sapkowski never said what this user was implying. Dude is generally not a people person and rarely praises anyone. If I remember correctly, Sapkowski once said he doesn't like video games in general as a medium and is often upset at games cause people tends to make blunders thinking he wrote books based on video games, not the other way around
