Why didn't this movie get more love? Did everybody just not feel comfortable setting a new unattainable goal?

This is one of the best scifi/tech/cg intertwined/psychological thrillers/philosophical movies ever produced.

Hell, most of the CG rivals District 9, and we all know that shitted all over the overrated puppet show that is avatar.

This will go down in history as Will Smith's golden pass into histories "This man help humanity" moratorium.

Well, I can't agree with anything in the OP whatsoever. But, I will contribute one thing to this thread:

GOD DAMMIT FRANK! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE! is will smith's defining line from his defining role.

What i remember most is the jarring product placement throughout the entire movie. It made Bond movies look subtle.

Isn't this a sequel to bicinnial man with robin williams.. Or set in the same world

No and no. But they had the same writer (Asimov) and same robotic laws by that writer.

i have always loved this movie as well. the best 10 seconds of the movie occurs during the tunnel scene where you see the robot trucks pull up and block behind and in front of his car. it's sooo intense hah.

you either a) did not watch avatar in theatre or HD or b) you did not watch district 9 like avatar in a) or c) you watched all 3 on SD tv.

I think the biggest problem the movie has is the legacy of the short story collection it references. It just doesn't deliver on the same order of magnitude.

Having said that, I enjoyed the viewing experience overall.

The only post I can now see, because everyone else has been added to my ignore list.

*dock*

The book is vastly better. Even if the movie has nothing to do with the book outside of characters names, the book is still better.

I thought it was incredibly dull and forgettable. I remember most of the scenes, just not caring about any of it. It was certainly a motion picture.

Is the OP a joke? Yeah, the movie is entertaining. But more so as a popcorn flick and not much else.

Also, have you seen Will Smith's new shoes?

I, Product Placement.

Love how I, Robot gets called on this all the time.. but Back to the Future and Blade Runner did it big and are classic sci-fi flicks..

ahhh hell naw..

That scene with the jets flying over head as he looks down on his robotic arm?

Iwo Jima Memorial, eat your heart out.

Since Blackface brought up Blade Runner....I've tried, literally, 9 times to watch that movie. I ALWAYS fall asleep about 17 minutes in.

Fuck Ambien if you have sleeping disorders, just put that shit on.

For the life of me, I can't remember what kind of shoes Will Smith is wearing near the beginning of the film. They look really awesome and are certainly something I am interested in. However, because the movie is set in the future, I doubt they are real shoes that I could buy today.

Back to the Product Placement and Product Placement Runner. There.

Back to the Future made up self-lacing Nikes, Mattel hoverboards, and a holographic 3D Jaws advertisement.

I, Robot coincidentally had "vintage" Converse sneakers that were on sale today. Planned far ahead of time, I'm sure. But one is clearly a placed product, and the other is a fantasy extension of the brand. Even the blatant "I'll take a Pepsi" moment, the Pepsi bottle was unlike anything Pepsi was selling or sold afterwards, to my knowledge.

Edit: I just remembered "I'll take a Pepsi Free" from the first movie, which the cafe owner indirectly mocked the name of immediately.

Its a movie that just slapped on the title "I, robot" to garner more interest. Like most summer blockbusters its pretty much forgettable, nothing special about it.

I like the robot designs in them, mostly. I liked the movie overall too - although some parts did feel a little bit dull, in the long run, it was good!

There is NO difference in pimping a product name.. pepsi and nike planned far ahead of time to get ad time in the movie.. Don't make it out to be BttF was some saintly movie that didn't do the evil product placement that I, Robot did. Because really they helped start that shit..

I propose well thought out OP with comparisons about a brilliant movie and the dude can't even bother to respond past the first sentence? Not cool.

E: The "little help" bit was just tongue in cheek though.
