I suck at Panzer Dragoon Orta :(

Maybe you should concentrate on one game at a time. Judging by the number of threads you've created in the past few days, you're overwhelming yourself.

If you're looking for health in a fix, use your glide wing's beserk; it'll heal you some.

And. . . If you think the second level is hard. Well. . . I can only say that it's going to get harder from there.

Not like it was hard for me, having S ranks in every level now. :D

Swallow your pride and beat PDO on easy first. It's short enough to where it doesn't matter. The game is so fuck awesome you'll want to go back and play through again on a higher difficulty.

I'd like to say that I whooped this game's ass on all difficulty levels. :)

If you want to unlock everything you'll either have to beat it on hard, or else play it for something like 17 hours. So it's not that short.

Do it on easy first, you'll probably enjoy it more. And yeah, remember to switch up your forms like crazy.

I sucked at PDO the first time I started it, too, so don't worry about it too much.

This is definitely a game in which you aren't meant to beat a level the first few times through. You're supposed to keep hammering it out until you pass it, even if that means getting your ass kicked repeatedly - I spent three days just trying to beat one stage. Just memorize different parts of the levels so you what to expect during key situations, and you'll be set.

Also, I continued with Normal the first time through, but I kind of regret not shifting to Easy - would have saved me a lot of time, since I went right back to play through it again.

Here's the thing, the second level *really* drives in how important changing forms is. You just have to learn how to switch to the form best for the situation as quickly as possible. when there's a shitload of bullets on the screen (at the worm boss for instance), switch to glide wing and use the auto-aim that it has to take out enough bullets so you won't get hit. Switch to the Heavy wing when he's not attacking you and you can lock on to do big damage. Switch to Base wing if you feel you need more lock on lasers.

Edit: I beat the game on Normal my first time through. It's not TOO hard once you get around to figuring out the forms well enough.

It's not that difficult. Just know when to switch between the different wings. It's a short game too, so take your time, and complete all the difficulties.

And play the
unlockable original Panzer Dragoon!

I got Panzer Orta this year and had a difficult time beating the first stage.

All i can say is that once you've mastered the controls the only thing stopping you is figuring boss strategies (learn to glide and deaccelerate).

I remember beatin Orta really quickly on a rental. Didn't really have that much fun either..... (shooter-lover here too) :(

I think nostalgia propelled some review scores/affection

the best tick is to not start back too often from the save point. you need to get mostly all the adn fragment if you want to be powerfull enough for small ennemy in number and for boss fight.

Anyone remember the trailer released for that game? It had some great music, but didn't appear on the OST from what I remember.

I think it's a song from Panzer Dragoon Saga.

I still do not udnerstand how I havent unlocked the original PD even though I have beat the game and played something like 11h so far.

you have to remember all the enemy positioning and switch forms accordingly.
level starts you off in a canyon w/ shit loads of small, easy to kill flying creaters. glide wing blast them away, after a while it's easier to keep to the back view as the pods appear. switch to regular form, lock onto pods, blast them away. remember their locations and switch view before you arrive. left, top, right, around 8/9 pods every time.
take care of any stray fire by using your pistol.
then you arrive upon the division, follow the worm, the valley is tougher. swing down/up to avoid collision. keep to glide wing, take care of those buttefly thingies.
then the fast speed swoop through the tunnels. remember number of enemies and postioning, aim before you arrive and fire in their general direction w/ glide wing. lots of bonuses.
during the worm boss encounter, stay on regular form and keep blasting them away, use regular pistol shot to take care of any stray fire.
they'll rise up...recognize this move, as they rise up...use the speed boost to burst away, and they'll miss. rinse and repeat. easy. use special techniques when possible.
behind the falls, take care of the swarms with glide wing first. then you encounter the rays. if you arent good enough, dont try to kill them, just protect yourself from their fire and get through the area.
the boss is just easy. boost to his back, keep hitting him till he flies off. keep hitting him. whenever he moves such that he is facing you, just postion yourself behind him. and keep hitting him. there are times he'll have a bunch of butterfly thingies circling him and they'll fly off and hit you...basically as they are circling him, kill them. rinse repeat, use special. done.
w/ a shooter like this, dont just play it, this is an artform. use your brain. memorize.

You really aren't missing much. I got to level 6 or something and the game was still boring as hell, I called it quits ;)

Tahrikmili, I'd hate to know what you call art because this game is loaded with it! Also, it's a hell of a show piece for Xbox. Try changing the difficulty level higher than beginner then play it you might think higher of the game!

They key to excelling at this game is mastering the different forms, you should be transforming constantly, like dozens of times per level based on what enemies you are fighting.

Man I really like this game but I just suck. Horribly. I'm no SECOND LEVEL and I can't beat it. The second level for some reason starts me off with 75% of my health, and by the time I'm doine with the two worm bosses I'm at 25%. From there I always get a game over behind the waterfalls.

Can someone please help? I might have to swallow my pride and go on easy. :(
