I think I've mastered Rock Howard

Man, i hate the Real Bout series. Those games didn't really move the story forward (oh, not to mention FF3).

The best things that came out of those games: Yamazaki and Blue Mary.

Since no one really confirmed it...

Rock is Geese's son. The entire plot of MOTW is based around Rock finding out about his birth mother, because to everyone's knowledge, Geese had no lover. The answer comes from Kain R. Heinlein, Geese's brother in law, so there you go. Also, Krauser is not Geese's half brother. That was part of the Fatal Fury 2 anime plot, which is not canon. The animes were extremely good, and very intouch with the spirit of the official story, but were not canon. ^_^

Also, Rock's good... Terry is still and always will be better.

you people are confusing me. You speak as if there is more than just the FF anime movie?

I own the Fatal Fury anime movie and was under the impression that that was the only thing made (and its also the only thign I see at animenfo, but that doesn't mean much in and of itself)

Is there more fatal fury goodness I need to see or is the movie the only thing?

Along with the movie, there are two Fatal Fury OAVs (basically the plots of the first two games with some extra stuff added, like Lilly), but Obari likes to recycle a lot of his designs into other animes (as I've illustrated above-some of the pictures aren't showing up.) They don't have anything to do with SNK (bar Gowcaizer, which is a C-list fighting game featuring his character designs)

Do they exist in english in any form? Its difficult for me to find signs that these things even exist (be it fansub or dvd purchase). Finding the movie is easy but not the ova's =\

edit: is it the thing I'm seeing called double impact?

Nope. It's RBFF2. Not really an intro voiceover but a title screen voiceover.

And RBFFS ain't no funny.

Ah okay now I know what you're talking about. "Da Newcomers!" :) I don't know man, that RBS announcer is the dumbest one yet. :lol

To be anal: Gowcaizer isn't an SNK game. It's a Technos game, and a terrible one, at that. :) SNK did handle the Neo CD version IIRC, and provided their own remixed music for it, which would explain why the PSX version (like Double Dragon) uses the shitty cart PCM BGMs.

FF3 and RBFF had story. RBFF is the "last" of the Fatal Fury game storyline before Garou. RBS and RB2, like Fatal Fury Special and KOF '98, don't have storyline and are just "dream match" type games.

There used to be some speculation that Fatal Fury 3 and RBFF were actually remakes of the original Fatal Fury storyline. SNK also originally wanted to use the name "Real Bout" for the series instead of "Garoudensetsu" or "Fatal Fury." You can even see a "Real Bout" sign in Duck King's stage in Fatal Fury 1.

CvS2 = Dream Match

Also, I'd like to state only the first FF OVA is based on the game, FF2 had Krauser, but it really went off into it's own thing, and was, IMO, the worst of the three. The actual game was about Krauser taking over the KOF tournament to fight Terry, and turned out to be a total dork. The 2nd OVA has no tournament, a bisho as hell Krauser, and more film noir cliche/rip offs then you can shake a black and white alcoholic detective at.
