I think MS will shut Double Fine after The Keeper

They'd destroy a LOT of goodwill if they shut down Double Fine. Tim Schafer's got tons of legacy in the industry going back to the late 1980s; you don't just shut his studio down without consequences to your reputation.

Plus it'd be a bad look for MS on top of having already shut down Tango Gameworks, and the only reason they came back was because of Krafton. Who's to say Double Fine would have the same luck?

It is weird that it's "THIS" game they decided to keep console exclusive.

It kinda makes sense cuz its a low risk(cost wise) game.
Bigger games need to sell loads more to make back that budget quicker.
If this game doesnt sell so well on Xbox/PC, releasing it on Ps5/Switch 2 down the line isnt a huge loss.

Same with South of Midnight.
Even Clockwork Revolution is console exclusive probably cuz again its probably not the most expensive game and they console exclusive it for a little while.

P.S
They really shouldnt be bothering with even timed exclusives right now, just release the shits make as much moola as you can to keep the smaller studios alive.
Nextgen try the exclusives thing again, with launch titles as good as youve been pumping out.

Dumb take. Their games obviously aren't expensive to make and are awesome. Psychonauts 2 is an all-time great game for me too. Keeper will probably review well and be played on Game Pass and other platforms more than enough to exist, IMO.

PS had to buy another studio just to port to PC. We have small MS studios already doing that on their own now on PC, S and X. Any delays to PS5 are likely just because it takes time to port stuff, similar to Hellblade 2. I imagine most of it is coming.

The "delay" most certainly isnt being caused by the port job.

AGC to DX12 is more of a challenge than DX12 to AGC(X), probably why Sony got Nixxes and even with them under the umbrella we have had some horrid PC ports.
I think the lower you go on PS the harder it is to go to DX12, to this day I dont think God of War Ragnarok reflections are at parity.

Keeper was the most exciting announcement at the Xbox show for me. I don't understand the hate. It's nice to see developers try out truly weird concepts, because most AAA devs are pathologically risk averse and most indie devs are just making variations on the same roguelike and metroidvania formulas or they're pumping out woke visual novel/walking simulator hybrids with "profound moral choices." Just give me some wild fucking creature to play as in an unhinged world with unpredictable mechanics.
