I turned 23 today

I'm 23 too(i could be 24 or 25) :lol , but i rather not tell people my birthday :lol Anyway, i dont celebrate holidays, but glad you alive to see another day homie.
 
I'm 27, and man, 28's coming in less than six months. :'( I don't trust anyone born after 12/31/1979.
 
I just turned 35 on Saturday. Age is something that you can control though - especially through exercise (physically) and just by being realistic about what people expect from someone who is your age (for example, now that you are reaching your mid-twenties, it is reasonable that people will look down on people your age who prey on high school girls, just like people look down on 35 year olds who try and act like they are still in undergrad).

And - I'm not saying that you have to go out and try to do what everyone else thinks someone your age should be doing. At 35, it is still cool if I go out, have a few drinks, and have an active social life. It's not cool if I go to frat parties and try to pick up drunken college girls.

That's the shitty part. Particularly for guys, aging isn't so depressing in the looks department (at least until you're middle-aged), but because of the changes in what society expects of you. That's what really depresses me.....I'll be 24 late this month, and while I'm in excellent health and "look young for my age", I can't exactly make up for all the kinds of social experiences I missed out on in highschool and college anymore. I will die never having had (legal) sex with an underage girl. :(

I cannot fucking BELIEVE I'm already in my mid-twenties. MID-TWENTIES. Jesus. It's almost surreal.

We're still young. Not really young, but young.
Can't say my life is that great but it's still superior to my teenage years. ::shrug::

Today has been very good to me, but without a doubt it's the most unimportant birthday I've felt. I guess when I turn 40 it'll be something to fuss over. :lol *shudder*
 
I'm 21. Yeah, I know we're not that old, but I remember being 14 just like it was yesterday.

I took the "Real Age Test" a few months ago and apparently I'm 14.5, heh.

I'm not mocking it, you can control the rate you age to some extent.


To any of you GAF members that are in your mid teens: You'll be in your 20s sooner than you think. Plan well...I have but I still can't believe how old I am already.

Welcome to the world of 23. It's where I've been for the last 11 months and I'll tell ya, it's not very exciting. Still there are luxuries of being 23 like having an age with both an even and odd digit in it. Conversations regarding this at parties may take you far.

Otherwise just a bit more wait for both of us until we're 25 and can rent a car!
 
It's not so much that I've gotten older. A lot of people say that I look young enough to be in High School.

It's that everyone else is getting older. Just look at that "they're begginning to merge" thread. Clinton looks so much older than I remember.

AFAIK, there are rental agencies that let people below 25 rent cars with something like a USD 30 fee.
 
Dont dispair. You'll turn 24 next year, stress about it, and wonder why you felt old at 23, and so on and so forth, all in vain. Pretend you turned 30 today, wished to be 23 again *ala peanut butter and jelly sandwiches* you're there, enjoy. Happy birthday.

Sucks too since there is this one 19 year old girl at my job who is my definition of a GODDESS but she seemed kinda suprised (not in the good way) to find out how much older than her I was...er...am. Fuck...and she has the PERFECT ass too. [edit: forgot to mention she thought I was younger than her]


Either way, today was a great day, despite my job forgetting my B-Day n all...I had to buy my own cake for my department and then my friends took me out for a night of free drinking :D
 
i turned 23 in july. i still feel 'young'. i don't think i'll start feeling 'old' till i finish university (end of next year).

heh, that goes for anything. I'm 22 now, and had my shoulder rebuilt twice during high school football. I already get pretty shitty arthritis some days... don't know how I'll react when I hit 40 and it's just sheer pain.

But yeah, I noticed when I turned 22 that it's not so much my age as the fact that I'm a senior in college. If I don't go tog rad school, it's off to the 'real world' for me, and that's gonna fucking suck. Luckily I think i'm sticking around for my masters. But I feel like that line Owen Wilson had in Wedding Crashers: "I'm still young..." chick: "...not THAT young." It's like, "Damn, man, time to start getting yer shit together. No more fucking around and chasing skirts all weekend."

It is perfectly reasonable, IMO, for a 23 year old guy to date a 19 year old woman - especially if it is one of your peers at work. And, in fact, women tend to like guys who are little older than them, since - let's face it, there is a maturity difference between (most) men and (most) women of the same age.

Now - you start to push the envelope when a 30 year old guy is dating 19 year olds (actually - any time someone over the age of 25 dates women who are not old enough to drink legally, you catch hell from your friends). And - if someone my age (35) regularly goes after 19 year olds, then we're probably talking about the early onset of "mid life crisis"
