I was weak I pre ordered Spider Man 2 for PS5 today lol

Preordering stuff in itself isn't really a problem. The problem is people doing it just based on hype alone or without delving into the necessary information that title has. Then being disappointed how it didn't turn out to be what they expect.

In this case, this is already the 3rd iteration if you include Miles. If you enjoyed the games or the Spiderman ip itself, you already know the minimum of what you'll get. Everything else is gravy.

Don't be ashamed of how you spent your money. It's yours and nobody has the right to complain about it. What matters is if you feel satisfied with what you got in return. Fuck everybody else's opinion.

Pretty much my take on it as well. I really don't know why anyone would get triggered by how someone else spends their money.

It's a safe bet with this title. I personally wouldn't preorder anything.
Depends. If the price is good, i would preorder both disc and digital. For example Hogwarts Legacy PS5/XSX for 49 on disc-->nobrainer. Or mentionned Spiderman 2 digital for 34-->nobrainer. Or limited editions if you're into it-->nobrainer.
Full price digital preorders on the other hand-->Hell no

The problem with pre-ordering AAA games is this: it sends a message to developers that it doesn't matter if their games are finished. If everyone pre-orders them, why bother making sure they're polished and complete?

When it comes to indie and AA games, pre-ordering can be essential if you are a physical game collector, as those kinds of games tend to have very low print runs.

I wouldn't expect the digital price to drop anytime soon unlike with a physical copy. If someone wants to stick with digital then maybe it makes no difference if they want the game soon.

Preorders can be cancelled.

Off topic. Like the SEC avatar. What school do you pull for?

But it's not a rare good and you don't have to wait a few days for it to arrive. You can always wait for some reviews first and if it's any good, buy some cheap voucher and get it like 20% cheaper.

Gators. *chomp*

Has Sony's policy changed recently? I remember when I pre-ordered The Taken King for PS4, but Sony would not let me cancel it.

I'm definitely not talking about keeping something in mint condition to sell it later on. Digital just doesn't decrease in price as quickly as physical copies do. It might not make a difference to those that buy the game digitally at launch or close to it.

Nice. I'm an Auburn grad myself

As long as you don't download the game then typically you can cancel. Has to be before release or within 14 days of purchase.

Go Tigers! :messenger_beaming: I also like the two Mississippi teams, as I live there. Also the Vols since I was born in Tennessee. Guess I like 'em all.. except Vandy, they have almost always been a disgrace to the conference.

The question is do you now have to play the other Spider-Man's to prepare for Spider-Man?

What is your preparation game?

Good for you OP. Still waiting for inspiration to play my copy of 2018. Might not be my cup of tea. Would love a VR Spiderman..!

Only one team in the SEC I despise but I'm sure you can guess which one that is. lol

Can someone give me one rational, good reason for pre-ordering? Especially digitally?

It can't be for supply reasons. It can't be for delivery reasons. If it's the standard game, it can't be for extra content reasons.

So why?

I preordered Starfield because I got a good deal on greenmangaming. I imagine others preorder so they can preload the game and not have to wait for the download on the day of release.

Yeah, specifically digital. I've done it a few times and regretted it. AC Valhalla, for instance. Paid full price and didn't even bother finishing it. Now it's dirt cheap. So stupid of me.

But what if the game is shit? I think I'd rather wait a couple of hours on launch day, than risk pre-ordering a game that sucks!

That's always a risk, but I think for a game like Spider-man 2 it is low risk. Riskier for me preordering Starfield.

Not sure why its considered weak because you wanted to play it early. it's not like its gonna come to PC any time soon. we will be lucky if we get it by early 2025. \

So yeah enjoy it. I did the same thing with final Fantasy 16. No regrets.

I wouldn't touch it for 20$ but I am not a Spiderman fan lol. I tried the PC version of the first one and 1 hour in and I was out. just not for me.

I did the same. I have a capable PC (and it's my prefered platform) but I want to play as close to day 1 as possible.

I dont know why people so against pre-ordering, if you are excited about the game whats wrong with pre-ordering?

I pre-ordered Armoured Core VI when very first trailer released.

Nothing wrong with pre-ordering if you know you for sure want to get the game.

I think you get a few little pre-order incentives for this game right? Like some early unlocks for a few of the suits and some skill points. It's not much, but again if you know you'll get it anyway, it's a little bonus for securing it early.

one of the safer pre-orders actually, you know coming from insomniac, it will not be a tecnical mess at launch.
dont see it coming to pc before a year either.
only issue might be you not liking the game, but since its a sequel you more or less know what to expect.

still sony really should implement a steam like refund system.

I tried playing the first one but couldnt able to finish it. I think i will wait for reviews before buying it. Last time i burned cash over this monotonous game.

Disappointed in you my fellow PCMR. Brother. You've fallen.

disappointed bummer GIF

Just kidding,im gonna buy in OCT too!
:lollipop_grinning:

the pc differences are minimal anyway. No point in waiting. Some games are best played in hype season

Pre oder = full blown retard mode

People will never understand how dumb it is to pre order video games
