If you could have Money or Family?

If you could have money or family what would you have?

Note:
With family you have money (but only enough to "get by modestly")

With money you can have "friends" but no marriage or kids or even long term dating, but money is no object to you

What would you choose?

At this point in my life (aka on the bottom muck sucking college kid) id choose money.

Honestly, money. I'm not much interested in ever starting a family of my own. I don't know, it's just never seemed like something I'd do. I sort of wish I were, but well, I don't think I am. Maybe I'd change my mind when I watch my friends get married and have kids, but otherwise, it's not really in my life plans anyway.

heh, I always wondered when I was younger if my mom would ever sell me for some reason. One of those weird childhood thoughts. I was like "you could probably get a ton of money for a kid". But I myself, family. I'd rather get married and have kids one day than remain insanely rich, do a lot of chicks, and live for the most part alone

Money. I'd then have the resources to carry out every project I've ever wanted to do. I tell you, the government just doesn't want to hand out money to support the perverted arts. I'd also buy up a giant, old, industrial building, make it my studio, and throw bizarre Warhol-esque parties. That'd be just about all the human interaction I'd need.

"The Family Man" with Nicolas Cage explores precisely that question.

As most married people here will tell you, my opinion -being that of a 21 year old indepedent student- is pretty damn naive. But I think the "money" life is more for me, visualizing it as it was portrayed in the aforementioned movie. Seriously, I think I'd get by perfectly well with just very close friends. That's probably because I wouldn't know what I'm missing in having kids, although I can't wait to have a son. However, I think can easily compensate for the lack of family with all the exploration of life that money can offer.

All you who take the money will end up like Mr. Scrooge in Mickey's Christmas Carol minus the happy ending because the spirits won't come for your asses! Think about that!

Considering friends isn't a choice, I'll take the money and build an apartment building for all my friends to stay. It'll be a really small apartment building :(

Money. I could buy a nice family with it.

That just inspired me. Family. I want 500 kids so I can turn my house into a sweatshop and make my millions exploiting my dear family. Child labor: The gift that keeps on giving!

Both have its ups and downs...

Sometimes family is really annoying.

But what true longterm happiness can be gained without family? It would seem almost vapid the money...

but then again, with money does come power. And if I really wanted I could sponsor friends and live vicariously through their families, while not having to bother with the hassle of a real family.

... yes, I think I'll take money :p

No long term relationships?

Arggg.... family. I'm a relationship person. But if you said money and can live with a long term relationship, then $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ all the way.

Man, thank God you're back Tazz. It's been really fucking dull around here without (at least) one strong woman.
