What would yours be? (and yes, for example if you're American, and you want to speak English, it has to be one of the three)

1) English
2) Japanese
3) Spanish

English is a no-brainer. Russian and Welsh would be my others - both beautiful languages, one with some genuine use beyond that. :)

English for obvious reasons.
Japanese because I'm a fanboy.
German because of my family heritage.

English
Spanish
French

English is obvious. Spanish I know some of and considering i live in Arizona it would be helpful for the frequent trips to Mexico. And french just to piss of republicans.

English, Chinese or Japanese, and Italian or Spanish. I don't know if I would want Chinese over Japanese; I think Chinese would be more practical and useful, but I have more of an interest in japanese culture, so I dunno. And Spanish would be pretty damn useful in this country, but Italian is such a beautiful language. But I took some italian, and I've noticed it's surprisingly similar to Spanish, to the point where I could almost understand spoken spanish as well as I could italian.

Well, I already can speak English and Arabic. I used to be really fluent in German, but it's been 15 years since I last spoke it.

But if I could choose only 3, I guess I'd say English, Japanese and Mandarin, especially if it means being able to read Chinese.

Too hard to pick 3...

English for practical use.
French for what it does to some people when they hear it (OMG U SPEAK FRENCH).
Spanish I want to learn.

1) English - duh.
2) Chinese - for the usual reasons of it being an upcoming economic power, as well as to be able to understand what the hell my parents are always talking about. I swear I've never heard them speak to each other in English.
3) Spanish - I've already learned it halfway, wouldn't hurt to learn the rest if I got the chance.

english
spanish
portuguese (so i can watch City of God w/o subtitles, and its fairly similar to spanish so it'd probably be easiest to learn)
