I've only been to two concerts, and while I'm not particularly a fan of live music to begin with, I'm seriously looking into a way to get to the Books show in Hudson, NY at the end of April. My directionally-deficient ass is a bit concerned about driving, but I lived near Troy for a while, so it isn't that far from an area I actually am familiar with...
what is the venue called? my friend lives there and i go there a lot, he might know of the place.

Acts that I desperately want to see but may never have a viable opportunity:

Nick Cave (Doesn't tour the US much, and when he does, they're not very expansive tours)
Bauhaus (They've had like 3 reunions. You're doing Coachella. C'mon!!!)
Les Savy Fav
At the Drive-in
Ministry circa 1988-99
Patrick Wolf (tour America, fucker)
Einstürzende Neubauten.(see: Nick Cave. On thier 25th Anniversary tour, I think they're playing 2 shows that AREN'T in eastern europe. I've heard very nuts things about their live show. LIVE PNEUMATIC DRILLS!!!!!! <3 <3 <3 Blixa <3 <3 <3)

Cake.

After a three hour long set, as the crowd was cheering, I'd wink straight down the barrel of death and say in my cockiest and funniest voice, "Do me."

All incredible live acts...

All except MMJ. Ever since their guitarist left they have really sucked. I downloaded a live bootleg of one of their recent shows, and it almost completely lacks what I heard when I saw them open for Foo Fighters in 2003. :(

I saw them right before the guitarist left. They put on an awesome show. I like Jimi James a lot, though. . .I thought he's known for awesome solo shows? You think he'd be able to carry the band himself.

Of course MMJ is marked by Dave Matthew's horrible taint :(

Seriously? They'd be fuckin' great to see... love Bauhaus.

There'd be something not quite right about seeing Bauhaus playing outside in 100 degree weather.

Didn't two of the bandmembers leave?
Yeah... the original MMJ certainly had a chemistry that was vital to their flawless live performance. Shame it isn't so, anymore.

Well, in all honesty, a live bootleg should NEVER be used to judge a band's onstage chemistry. COME ON!

COME ON! nothing. I've heard the band live and heard their bootleg, normally I know you can't truly compare however even their approach was almost completely different. MMJ was like an alternative country version of Led Zeppelin. The bootleg I heard was like a really bad rip of Whiskeytown. :p

I reallllllly want to see British Sea Power. Really.

Other than that, I've seen RH, though I wouldn't mind seeing them again. :) Though I still can't get over the fact that I missed the fucking Pixies.

Fair enough. But I'll reserve judgement until I actually see them with the new line-up.
