Just reading through this thread I have officially met my snark overload. Wow. That brief statement by klobb was probably hyperbole but maybe its just that amazing.

It's Microsoft news that tried to be positive, so the knives come out. The funny thing is that Platinum games are usually universally loved. Yet because it's an MS exclusive it's suddenly lols.
 
I like how he makes a comment in a casual conversation in a podcast and people act like he said it in an official press release or in an interview for a news article. For fuck's sake people; he has pride in his game and OFC those remarks are hyperbole.

Having said that, this game has the potential to either be a massive letdown or an amazing new IP. I loved the CGI trailer, but we really can't judge anything without actual gameplay. This E3 is going to be amazing with Phantom Dust and Scalebound gameplay so we can actually have a conversation about the games.

Lol, you may want to look at the context of some of the quotes you are "quoting." Some are in response to other quotes. Geez, mine was in response to someone saying basically they are saving this thread so when the game is released and reviews are out, crow will be served. I was just responding to that quote, which was agreeing with Lobb.

I don't think you do either. People were pissed because they knew how good it would be and wanted it on other platforms, not because they thought a prediction of it being GOAT is ridiculous

I feel like a lot of people didn't listen to the podcast and took this out of context. It was just a really nice compliment to Kamiya and the PG team that Ken gave them.

Of course, IGN's clickbait articles don't help so I guess I can't really blame everybody in here.
 
part of the reason I'm buying an xb1 in the 2015 or 2016 year (the others being d4, raiden v, and qute's shoooter).

in kamiya we trust

I love viva pinata and thought kameo was good but I think the "problem" people have is "they weren't too bad" is not the quality that people expect from rare.

I never thought their old stuff was wonderful either so their quality never declined, but the "scope" did

the guys who brought me goldeneye making fuckin kinect games and "some clothes for your xbox avatar" isn't exactly what I expected from them

Yeah i am not sure why people are comparing this to the Bayonetta announcement, only real similarity is the fact that most are salty because it ain't on their console of choice.

Of course this could be one of the GOATs and shame on anyone who doubts Kamiya.

Don't know if you played W101 but it's hard not to be doubtful after I tried it. I say tried because I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Could barely see my characters or make out what was going on and the endlessly looping music killed any chance of excitement during battle.

Kamiya did great with DMC and Bayo (two very similar games) but when he steps out of that genre it's just ugh. Also I think RE2 was more Mikami's game. Kamiya's version was 1.5

Pretty much every exclusive title gets tons of crap in every related thread. Wonderful 101. Bayonetta 2. DriveClub. Sunset Overdrive. The Order. As far as I can tell it's pretty much uniform regardless of the platform in question, and it is unfortunate.

In this case I'd say it was also inevitable due to the thread title. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, so the skepticism is not exactly unwarranted. Platinum titles tipped me into the Wii U owner camp so it's not like I'm uninterested — but for me only Bayonetta 2 lived up to expectations, as Wonderful 101 just failed to engage. There's a perfectly reasonable cautionary tale there.
 
Hmm so he says they add what MS is good at and what PG is good at... co op and action? Idk.

Platinum Games are really good so I'm hopeful its going to be a good game.

They just pale in comparison to their past track record.And some of them were bad, I mean just look what they did to Joanna in perfect dark, she looks like some trashy hooker.

None of them were bad, PDZ was the worst by far, and it was still decent. While I can agree that Rare's overall Xbox output so far has been nowhere near as successful as their Nintendo years - those games have just made more money, and they were better received in their time - if we were to compare them directly, some of their Xbox games are just as good, if not better than their classic titles.

I'm trying to think of what Microsoft does well and all I can think of is Excel

So I'm convinced Scalebound will be an action packed spreadsheet title

Main character's Dragon Companion will be voiced by the guy who does the voice for that obnoxious little Windows help companion paperclip dude
