It's more than simple EA hate. 200,000 responded to the survey and it's not straight EA vs. 2K poll, they discuss exclusive licensing, and other sports endeavors for EA...

My friend took part in that poll, it was pretty all-encompassing, there were some things he felt EA did better (baseball) and some they didn't (basketball).

I don't think anyone can say that gamers are better off with EA having exclusive football rights or 2k having exclusive baseball rights.

You'd think, especially with the popularity of collage football right now, that Visual Concepts would have an NCAA 2k7 in development.

They can't EA bought the exclusive rights to that too.

I'm sorry, shouldn't sales be the automatic indicator of what people like? Why are they paying for something they don't enjoy?

Ive paid for plenty of games I didnt like or enjoy. Though I suppose its different with a yearly game like madden.

EA - The fuck is Olympics?

It's a sporting event that happens every two years that developers foolishly make quick cash-in games based on existing engines for, thinking they'll sell. But they don't because gamers typically aren't the sort of people that give a fuck about them.

Sales figures make this completely irrelevant (as if it wasn't already).

Things may change if this poll is an indication of the sentiment of future gamers, especially at the start of new generation of consoles.

And how do you know this? Because the "hardc0res" don't care? Fuck 'em.

Doubt they sell any less then EA Rugby, but EA's got no problem trotting that out on a yearly basis.
