GoldenEye is an empty vessel of a game missing personality, charm, story or any kind of distinguishing character. If videogames were living creatures and had souls, Rogue Agent would be the wandering game in search of one. It's a first-person shooter that feels like its dying to be like many other videogames but doesn't achieve any sense of individualistic character. It's missing that special something that gamers latch onto, love or obsess about in a game. Instead, you've got a title void of passion and a character lacking any personality. And to top it all, GoldenEye doesn't do anything worthy of calling evil in any way, shape or form.

7.0 Presentation
Slick menus are coupled with a snore-fest of a story and empty, shallow characters.
6.3 Graphics
Holding up at 30 FPS on all three systems, Rogue Agent sports dull textures, level designs, and generic enemies.
7.0 Sound
Paul Oakenfold doesn't make his strongest case here, while some of the voice-acting is good.
5.0 Gameplay
The run and gun gameplay is decent, but the single-player experience is a slog of repetitive, boring levels with no climatic sections. The Goldeneye stuff feels like a second thought.
8.0 Lasting Appeal
This 10-12 hour single-player game is better in the four-player multiplayer modes. Decent as a split-screen game or online for PS2 and Xbox.
6.5
