25GB?

Is this a new challenger for the worst PC port this generation? What's the competition? Saints Row 2?

I meant 'in interesting thread'.

Yes, that'll do.
Should've still been in this interesting thread ;)

Surprised at the 4870  First time I've seen that I think. My 4850 am cry. Shouldn't 9800 be the same as 8800 btw? This game is probably better optimised for nvidia then

Honestly, I don't think this game is optimised for anything.

Standard warning they put on all LucasArts PC games in the last couple of years I believe. I think they use Securom on everything.

The quick look on Giant Bomb exposed some fairly nasty performance issues. Hopefully they either patch it quickly, or my 4870x2 can bruit force its way to good performance, but I'm not hopeful. Whatever the case, this is absolutely not a 'day one' purchase as user impressions will be vastly more telling than review sites.

Don't give them the money : (
Because the specs are a bit high? Nah. Maybe the port will be crap, but I'm sure I can CD Wow it for $45 so I'm not losing out on much if it turns out to be bad.

Aren't the 8800 and 9800 basically the same card? Either way, I don't even know what this game is so I don't really care. But I find that curious for min and recommended.

Anyone else seeing something wrong with this?

* Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 4870
* Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 9800 GT

That ATI card completely kills the 9800GT. It just seems odd they would put that down. The performence between those two is HUGE.

Minimum? :lol

Was this game programmed by monkeys? I mean it ran on the 360 and PS3 and now you need an 8800 to play it? :lol

Guess I'll go for the console peasant version. I usually play all Star Wars games on PC, but not this one!

Did they make a completely new engine for the PC game? The fidelity I've seen on the PS360 doesn't justify any of these. :lol

25GB might be the largest game install I've seen yet, btw. A trivial amount for PC gamers, but still.

No, its
Code:
iit = "I implore thee";

Without the quotes, you will just get a syntax error upon compiling.

I find this shocking as well, but the semicolon does play a role outside of code.

I think it comes with an emulator and the just run the console version on the emulator.
That's what Saint's Row 2 does (and it's awful).

edit: I just took a quick look at giantbomb's QL and it didn't seem that bad, actually.

I say the first part of your post and i thought that the requirements were manageable, if not ideal.

And then i saw that they were the MINIMUM.

What the fuck.

Minus the typical Gearbox bugs on launch (sup, Borderlands?) fiasco and terrible netcode for multiplayer, it wasn't a bad port. Passable, but could've been better.

Of course, everyone should play the X-box version anyway

I remember when Lucasarts actually gave a toss about making good Star Wars PC games.

Old Republic along with KOTOR are all Bioware/Obsidian developed though. Lucasarts just publishes nowadays, with few exceptions.

I'm talking about the in-house Lucasarts studio.

Yep, sums up the stupidity of "recommended specs" right there. Just ignore them, wait till the game is benchmarked.
