WTF... with those specs the game better be hella smoother than the original game... pretty game but laggy. Awesome physics for a console game though...

The port is laughably horrible. The in-game display settings consist of brightness. No resolution, no tweaks, no nothing. The only thing you an change is the resolution and you have to do that out of the game. It runs way worse than it should on top of that.

People on the Steam forum are saying that the game is 30GB.

Meh, a $5 turd is still a turd to me. Reduce the storage footprint to something reasonable and up the framerate to 60 and I'll bite.

Neither of these will ever happen, so I'll remain $5 richer.

It's to stop pirating !

You're much less likely to download a 25 Gb game :)

Dragon Age Origins is a ~15 GB game that can be compressed using windows folder compression (the shittiest compression ever) to about 8 GB. There's absolutely no reason the game couldn't have been compressed to that size and playable. There's plenty of compression schemes used in games that do not require much CPU at all (your HDD is the limiting factor in decompressing, by a long shot), this is nothing new.

There's just some bizarre movement going on where these huge games are needlessly uncompressed. There's just no reason for windows' built in folder compression to reduce your game directory by almost 50%.

Standard warning they put on all LucasArts PC games in the last couple of years I believe. I think they use Securom on everything.

Securom has basically forced me to buy all PC games via digital distribution.

Friend of mine says it's pretty terrible. Shitty optimisation, virtually no option settings to tweak, mouse and keyboard controls aren't ideal.

Yeah, I'd say avoid.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

Oh god, you just reminded me that I bought that in 1993 for my 386/25 and I never was able to play it.

Maybe it's finally time 17 years later...

Similar software borked my DVD Rom before. Performance degraded to the point where I couldn't even read DVDs anymore. But I reinstalled Windows and it worked like new. I never installed Starforce so it must have been something else.

That will teach you for not pirating and paying them honest good money.
