I'll take Zeldaton for a thousand Alex.

That's like making Star Wars rated R.

I also have an issue with star wars being so family freindly. Out of everyone in this forum i thought you would have noticed i made an effort here not to be a dick, instead take my time and make a thoughtfull post.

I really don't see how making Zelda more like Fable maturity-wise would be a huge difference. Alittle blood, swearing, and sex? As entertaining as those are it would not be a huge difference.

Though from what I've seen it is heading a bit more in that direction. A girl who Link obviously has a thing for gets shot in the back with an arrow during a bokoblin(?) raid.

No, I didn't mean to disregard what you posted, but I don't think Zelda's being censored much.

Not that I don't like Fable. I really liked a lot of what it did, especially the music and the general sense of a fantasy adventure, but I don't think it being rated M helped or hurt it in any way.

Huh?

I played NFS: Most Wanted, Full Auto, and Test Drive Unleashed for Xbox 360. I also watched a bunch of people play Condemned and Kameo with Xbox 360 controllers.

I'm confused.

Hear hear. Full Auto was fucking awesome by the way.

Personally I am looking forward to Zelda, but I am not frothing at the mouth. "Mature" graphics or not it's a Zelda game and will feature the same mechanics found in WW, MM, and OoT. Even if I hadn't played it, I'd know what it would be like for the most part. Personally, I'd have liked another game with the Wind Waker style.

Thats cool, i just see the art (the very cool and dark art) that zelda is using and imediately think..... why not turn things up a notch ?

Not hyped at all for zelda. I just cant get into what appears to me as a restricted game held back because of nintendo's family orientation. I am not trying to troll here, even i cant deny how well done this new zelda will be.

As for the graphics, well they are great for the gamecube but as far as giving the 360 or ps3 a run for their money, i dont see it that way. In the end i dont hate nintendo, i just dont like their target audience and cant help but feel its being censored.

If zelda was say, like fable but zelda i think i would dig it.
You might want to consider who is behind the game. Yes, Nintendo has a general target audience, but why are they necessarily interested in making it any more violent or bloody (serious/mature)?

Oh, and I really do think your thoughts on this are retarded. Not to insult you, but it had to be said.

You might want to consider why nintendo has such a limited appeal to all gamer cross sections...

Its not just about being more mature or serious. There is a real strong sense of resrtiction with this new zelda. Its not just the fact that he doesnt speak, or the fact that he is placed in all of these situations where violence and seriously "mature" events should occur, its mainly that things always seem to be ... how should i say ... morally cleaned up.

I can already tell that i am wasting my time with a response with you, but i would like to add that if you think my points are "retarded" thats fine. We dont all live like closed minded children.

I think this statement combined with your depreciation for anything not sex, drugs, and alcohol (nevermind anything remotely family oriented) speaks volumes about you as a person. Are you one of those people that just thinks they are too mature to go see a movie not rated PG13 and above?

Right, I'm close-minded. If only I could have your worldly perspective that you've so demonstrated. Seriously, you don't get it.

So i guess you jumping the gun and passing me off on whim as some idiot speaks "volumes" about you as a person... I was responding to the dude calling me a retard.

Where did i say i want sex drugs and alcohol in the next zelda ?

I dont think i am too mature to go and see a PG13 movie, but usually PG13 movies do not have themes that interest or challenge me mentally. You see maturity is not all about killing, stealing and bad language.

You definately are, you cant accept the fact that someone else has a different opinion, so you go and call it retarded.

Seriously, you dont get it either.

I thought everyone knew by now that Nintendo is the Disney of videogames. You won't find the Big N making a game like Silent Hill. However, there are PLENTY of developers that do. I don't think nintendo should join their ranks at all.

What I don't get is why people who prefer more 'mature' content sometimes seem downright hostile to more family oriented games. I think there's a big place for the whimsical and fanciful.

Freudian slip? I didn't call you a retard. Only attributed to what you had said.

If you could just at all substantiate this "strong sense of restriction", then I wouldn't have been so blunt. It doesn't seem to make any sense. You're unwilling to say what exactly is missing, or what exactly is present, but only that these ambiguities somehow harm the game and demonstrate that this team really does wish to make a game more something, but is "holding back". What what

Same. I bet Ryudu probably skips out on all the great Pixar flicks because, dear lord, they are rated PG and are family oriented.

The funny thing is that it's his loss, more than anything else. Acting like Nintendo is responsible for him not wanting to play Zelda is laughable. Grow up buddie - being mature doesn't mean excluding all that is fair-moraled in favor of teh mat00re.

Link's the hero in the classic sense. He's not Batman where there's a skewed sense of justice, he fights to save the world and his loved ones.

And in The Wind Waker, lines were pretty blurred at the end of it, but it wasn't because Link got his hands dirty to get the job done (it was due to the NPCs :P).

I think I get what you're saying. Ocarina of Time was a classic story of good vs. evil. This one looks like it'll be more of the same because of its strong resemblance to OoT. Though, looking at Majora's Mask, and The Wind Waker, I think Twilight Princess will be even more advanced in its story telling. I think Aonuma and crew really know what they're doing in that department.

Yeah Ganon throwing up blood and Link stabbing the Master Sword through his Brain is UBER kiddy. Look Nintendo knows the difference between uneccessary and neccessary violence. OOT and Majoras mask tackled some seriously adult like issues. Remember the little girl who's father had turned into an undead Zombie and she was protecting him by hiding him in the closet? There was nothing that emotionally compelling in a game like Fable so all the of the blood and face scarring ect. did little to bring the player deeper into the game. Be as we all know Mortal Kombat is the most engrossing game every created.

I think you will be surprised in how Dark TW turns out however unintentional it may be on Nintendo's part. I've seen sequences that look like something straight out of a Clive Barker Novel.

Freudian slip ? Hmm what comments to retards make ? You cant attribute an a synonymous trait without implying its meaning.

As for substantiating my opinion (which in case anyone missed it... what i said was my opinion), i just said it was a feeling i had gotten from watching the media currently available. I am not willing to write the game off untill i play it and finish it, becuase i dont know the full story.

I agree, its looking much more advanced in the story area and i think it has gotten much darker. We still (or i ) dont know if the girl from the underground passage after toaru village is killed or not. Little things like that plus what Shaheed79 pointed out.

I dont understand where all the angst is comming from here, i didnt rubish zelda and i actually said it will be a great game. Cheers for not ripping into me :)
