I fucking hate it because at least once in my life, I've actually said "IMO". Although I said more like, "In My'o" or "In M'O" or whatever. How embarrassing....

IMO I think it's a copout. If you're too pussy to say what's on your mind don't say it at all.

Then again you better have something to cover your ass here on GAF in the gaming discussion section.

imo of course

"IMO" has become so common because too many idiots try to shoot down other people's ideas or comments with retarded shit like "Opi0n =/= fact!!!!!1"

By throwing in "IMO" threads hopefully won't be needlessly clutered with the "no duh it's my opinion" responses.

Shit man, I did this once. I don't really know if anyone noticed, but it was exactly how you say ... like I combined "IMO" with "In My Opinion" to form some molded combination of the two.

imo

Thar \Thar\, n. (Zo["o]l.) A goatlike animal (Capra Jemlaica) native of the Himalayas. It has small, flattened horns, curved directly backward. The hair of the neck, shoulders, and chest of the male is very long, reaching to the knees. Called also serow, and imo. [Written also thaar, and tahr.]

I've been using "IMO" / "IMHO" and "BTW" as long as I can remember. They're as much a part of my Internet vocabulary as "LOL" XD

I tend to use IMO quite a fair bit, because people over the internet tend to take one's opinion much too seriously, and need to be reminded that what I'm saying is only my opinion.

Yeah a lot of the proliferation of IMO and IMHO come from dingbats who keep on saying "BUT THAT IS YOUR OPINION AND YOU STATE IT LIKE IT IS A FACT!" Kinda a self-defense mechanism from Chuckleheads.:)

Yeah, it's become annoying. We know it's your opinion; you don't have to tell us.
:lol
on the gaming forum if you don't specify that it's your opinion some assholes will think that you mean it as FACT

To those retards...you must specify which is why I've taken to putting IMO into some of my posts despite the fact that 99.9% of my gaming forum posts are of my slanted and obtuse opinions...i just don't care for a battle over something as pointless as:

"Well if you were going to post your opinion you should state it like an opinion instead of stating it like a fact so that weak minded pissfucks like me will not misinterpit you"

I don't mind "IMO" so much.

What I do hate are people that constantly act like what they're saying is infallible because it's their opinion. Reminding you, again and again, that it is their opinion, as if you've forgotten, and that therefore you are out of line.

"Yes, and it's wrong."

IMO is your best bet against unleashing a flamewar. Remember that.

For example:

"Guns 'n Roses suck ass." - BAD IDEA.
"Guns 'n Roses suck ass, IMO." - GOOD IDEA.

By saying IMO you let people know that you have stated that's how *YOU* feel, but recognize that others may disagree. If you just say it, people will think you are trying to dictate your viewpoint on something to everyone reading.

All IMO of course. :D
