In case you doubted: PSX will be an annual event from now on

I hope this doesn't put too much pressure on dev team who have make so many deferent demo for different venue.

On the other hand, kind of free focus testing ;). Also, it gives them another venue to show their support for their wide array of third party developers leaving plenty of space for AAA productions and indies alike. They did not drop many bombs maybe, but they did show a LOT of games.

Sony the first to pull out of E3. I'm guessin 2017.

No, this is a completely different kind of event.
PSX is a fan expo where developers and fans gather together to show and play games. E3 is a press event for the media, nobody is going to leave E3.

I'm glad they're doing it annualy, it's a great way to hype your brand and get in touch with the fans, and it's a great opportunity for smaller indie teams to show their games. Sony should definitely think about Europe too, it's their biggest market and Germany could be the ideal place.

Wait so that means :
-E3
-GAMESCOM
-TGS
-PSX

4 conferences a year ?
They must have quite a bit of content planned to put so maany events.

People in Europe have gamecom the largest convention by far. But I can understand why they want their own Sony thing. But you do have GDC which is mainly Sony's land.

Sony got a shit ton of attention in social media and press from holding these events every few months starting with the PS4 reveal. Its working for them big time in the form of mind share which equals sales. They are constantly on people minds and they know it.

Don't expect this show to be anywhere but Las Vegas for the next 5 years
Makes sense. Close to Sony's home and convenient for many developers, but far enough away that it's burdensome for the gaming media to attend. It keeps the cynicism and snark away while maintaining a close bond between developers and fans.

Seems like a good idea to spread announcements out throughout the year. It will probably for the most part be for updates on games we already know about and fans attending the conference to play unreleased games, but it's a great way to bridge the gap between conferences from October through to the following summer.

Stupid. Just makes them most likely announce stuff less during E3 and makes their presence at PAX null if they just want to wait and reveal everything at their own show.

I had a total blast this year, and look forward to it next year. I foresee it remaining in Vegas, but it would be very cool if each year they did it in a different city. My wife would like that more too, as her and I are sick of Vegas after going so many times, hah.

There you go guys, there was no need to worry. TLG, Shenmue 3 and Crash will be at PSX next year.
