Indie Bundle Thread - There's another one?

A just posted job description suggests that a Humble Bundle in November will be an android bundle (and considering apportable turns ios games in to android games, maybe it will be a bundle of ios games ported to android). Clicky to job description

I can only think of one ios game that is also on steam and not on android: Hero Academy.

I bet VVVVVV is in the next Humble Android Bundle.

That would explain the lines:

We're working on a new Android bundle that has the potential to be the best yet. And we'd like to try an experiment. Would any of you like to come to San Francisco and help us finish it?

We're looking for strong programmers who love games. Familiarity with Objective-C, C++, and Python will be helpful.

Work with the source code of the best indie game developers (under NDA, of course)

The Indie Gala X bundle is up.

Below average:

- Omegalodon
- Praetorians
- Majesty 2 (Steam)
- East India Company (Steam)

Above average:

- Lead And Gold: Gangs Of The Wild West (Steam)
- Europa Universalis: Rome Gold (Steam)
- Knights Of Honor (Steam)
- Elven Legacy (Steam)
- Hearts Of Iron 2 Complete (Steam)

With three secret bonuses.

Anyone know if Elven Legacy, Majesty and East India Company are the complete collections?

Don't forget the Indie Gala Happy Hour Rule:

- Buy the bundle for 1 dollar on the first week, whether you like the "more than average" games or not.
- wait for the reveal of the secret games
- buy A GIFT TO YOURSELF on the happy hour. If you bought it for one dollar on the first week, you'll get FOUR gifts. Make sure the "gift" purchase is higher than the average, and all 4 gifts will be for ALL THE GAMES.
- use one for yourself and give the other 3 away. However, don't forget you still have a couple keys from the 1 dollar purchase.

Gaming the system of an indie game bundle to squeeze out more keys? That... sounds pretty shitty.

Since when is Praetorians an indie title. I remember that being a big PC release back then. I was so hyped for that game.

It's not really gaining the system when they explicitly lay out all the information when the Happy Hour is up.

Edit: But maybe they finally fixed that loophole?

"Only BTA people will be qualified 'early buyer' for the Happy Hour ( if an HappyHour will be )"

Either way, you still get 2 gifts if you purchase a gift on the Happy Hour, so it's still better to gift it to yourself on Happy Hour than to buy it now.

I don't understand web browsers much but why is it my Indie Gala profile goes to a python coding error when viewed in Chrome but works fine in other browsers?

Anyone have impressions of any of these games? I've never heard of any of them.

Omegalodon is entertaining for an hour or two. It's a multiplayer only game where a few people control soldiers, one person controls a huge monster, and others control characters on the monster's side. Soldiers try to kill the monster while the monster destroys the city. The first to be destroyed - the monster or the city, will result in the winning team.

Was doing that for me as well on Chrome but it's working now.

When is this "Happy Hour"? I'm only interested in Hearts of Iron.

Eventually. There's no time set in stone. There isn't even a guarantee that it will happen (except it usually does, twice).

Just keep your eyes peeled on twitter and this thread.

Well shit, I missed the To the Moon bundle. :-/

man, i passed on the last humble one (had most of the games i wanted) and so many others after i looked at the huge pile of indie games i'd not heard of/played on steam, but that one got me, for that game alone.

Only want Capsized from there and already have SPAZ and Waveform, so I'll pass.

can you elaborate on this?
*places tip of pencil next to Capsized entry, ready to strike it off wishlist*

My experience with Capsized (about 1/3 through I think) is kinda like those physics puzzle games on iOS/Android where you draw shapes that then roll balls: what should be an elegant and interesting experience winds up being clumsy and hard to control, and solutions are achieved via brute force trickery.

I gave it a fair chance, really. It's neat in theory but you constantly have to fight the game, the controls, the physics, the collision detection. It's just super janky and frustrating. The controls are loose, there's no weight to any of your movements and the weapons don't feel very satisfying, enemy encounters can get very messy and unpredictable. I stopped after 2ish hours.

Thanks guys, that sounds terrible :/ I was thinking about buying it for the local co-op but there's not a lot that can save a game with awful physics and controls for me.

I really hope they learned from their mistakes in Capsized because Apotheon looks great.

Mmm... the demo was tolerable, but if the final game is so frustrating and not enjoyable I'll pass. It's not like there's a lack of good games out there, and several of them are already waiting for me in my Steam account.

New Indie Game Stand game is Megabyte Punch:

Paying more than a dollar will get you a Desura key, but if we all vote for MegaByte on Greenlight, the developer can add Steam keys at a later date. Our last alpha sale for Gnomoria was a fantastic success and resulted in the game getting approved for Steam the following week. Let’s do the same for MegaByte Punch! Beating the Average Price will unlock MegaByte Punch’s Alpha Original Soundtrack.

Featured Charity: Electronic Frontier Foundation

Developer Reptile Games has selected EFF to receive 10% of the proceeds from this 96-hour sale.

Looks like Smash Bros + Custom Robo?

I am interested in hearing people's feelings towards megabyte punch. Is this smash bros. PC? (doubtful but looks like it could be fun). I'll be trying out the demo but without friends to play with I'm guessing it won't be as cool.

the vs looks a lot like smash bros, while the co op parts looked more megaman like, both of course with being able to build your own unique characters, I will likely pick this up as it looks neat, but I have to wait until my wife confirms given she would be the one I played with as it doesn't seem to support online play at this time.

Looks like the Desura keys are having some trouble activating. IGS is apparently working on a solution.

According to another buyer, IGS knows and is working on it.

"Thanks for contacting us. The Desura key problem is happening to everyone and we're currently looking into it. Sorry about this, but you'll have access to a valid key as soon as this is resolved."

There's been about a thousand listings of The Ship on Steam Gifts. Where is that coming from? Most of the flooded stuff (DOTA 2 invites aside) are from indie bundles, so it feels like I've missed something.

From Blazinggriffin, one game for yourself + 2 gift. And it's over.
