Hmm. I have no love for overtly hipster indie game devs but I'm not finding these particularly funny.

Who's that guy in the middle?

Don't you know? Not being with (ie focusing your business around) someone means you're against him! Also, everyone is an irrational fanboy hanging from Nintendo's dick.
 
They're pretty funny.

I take issue with one or two of them (like the "colorful pixel art" one... Just because it's colorful doesn't mean it's the same art style) but I can see many of these being true.

It was only a matter of time before someone took it seriously I guess, lol. Yes guys, "indies" suck and all these are 100% true and never result in fun worthy games anyone should pay over $1 for, it's not like you can take creations on a case by case basis, just like every HD game is a brown, vaseline smeared FPS with bald bisexual space marines and every Wii game is a childish waggle fest. God forbid we see the big picture or, hell, the good sides of a vast, vast field.

This made me smile a bit. "Retro" has become so meaningless nowadays. It's basically "if it has pixels or primary colors, it's retro." People draw a sprite and some synthy music and suddenly "it's just like an NES!"

Old 2D systems had a variety of different looks, appearances, strengths, and limitations, and you could tell systems apart by this. Instead it's "well this is '8-bit' and 'nostalgic' so let's draw something blocky and write music that's a bunch of bleeps and bloops."

I wasn't referring to the gifs, since that wasn't my first response in the thread, but to people pretending that it's all real instead of accept it all for what it is, ie, a silly joke poking fun at some things rather than a statement about real tangible issues. Yeah, some people just do these things as bullet points rather than for the love of it, as an art or a real skill, or whatever else, but who the hell is paying attention to them? Indie scene lovers sure don't. They don't represent anyone but themselves, rather than the whole indie field. On the other hand, you can't just dismiss works like Noitu Love 2 for using pixel art or Aquaria for being colorful or side scrollers in general, etc. That's just dumb.

Man, I had a cool idea for a game, but I was going to make it like a NES game. I guess I should give up before everyone hates me for it!
