(Aka Humble Indie Bundle 12 if my luck/purchase history is to be believed).

Keep an eye on GoG - Teslagrad has been on sale there this week.

Unrest has a demo now, game is releasing July 23rd

So - I was put off by the visuals here (sad as that sounds, especially in this thread) but having played it I'm quite fond of it.

Politics, genre, class, race - these might be pie in the sky "buzzwords" but it's all pretty well done in this demo section and now I'm interested to see how it might extend to the full game.

I'm curious though, why would you say that a new thread increases the visibility comapred to taking the old thread, changing the title, updating the info and then bumping it again for the sale, which we did for the past few sales? Honestly curious whether there is an aspect about this I didnt consider/dont know of.
I think people are more prone to participate in a thread if the first couple pages of posts aren't from several months ago. The fresh start approach can help a lot and make the thread more timely/relevant compared to reusing an old one for time-sensitive events.
The final Early Access update for the FPS Wrack is coming out sometime today.

The trailer is here.
I am still bummed out this game didn't win the Community Choice vote when it had an 80%(!) discount.

My computer ia getting randoms BSoD so I'm not going to post too much here since I can't play games atm.

Sucks :( Best of luck in getting it sorted out and/or a new cheap pc.

Fancy Skulls is finally on Early Access

These are my impressions from October
Between Paranautical Activity, Tower of Guns, and Fancy Skulls, it seems like the roguelike first person shooter is in vogue right now. While Paranautical Activity and Tower of Guns embrace over-the-top white-knuckle mayhem, Fancy Skulls stands out due to its abstract style and measured, more strategic gameplay.

The first aspect that stands out is the game's surreal visuals. Activate one of its randomized rooms and deformed multi-eyed...things emerge from their spawn points to attack: flying projectile-firing skulls, red-clawed melee chargers, bomb-spewing white stalks that aimlessly lurch around, spindly cyclopean turrets, and more. Each new enemy is a new learning experience: how does it behave, does it move or is it stationary, and most importantly, where is its weak point. Every enemy has a weak point somewhere on its body, some obvious, some more concealed or only visible at certain intervals; a few shots in this vulnerable area will kill an enemy and this element, combined with your limited ammo, totally alters the pacing compared to other FPS roguelikes. While in other games, you can fire wildly at enemies, here you'll survive longer by making your shots count and taking the time to aim carefully.

Further adding to Fancy Skull's strategic gameplay are the items and upgrades you can acquire. Like the enemies, you won't know what an item will do until you use it. From allowing you to hover and double jump to performing a fiery melee slam to slowing time, items are varied and completely change your strategy. Items require mana to use, so you can't spam these special abilities. Weapon upgrades can be bought from vendors found on each floor and imbue your guns with game changing abilities such as fire or explosive rounds to making ammo not count while airborne. The game's seven weapons range from your starting revolver to a shotgun and raygun to a rocket launcher and each feels different. (And yes you can rocket-jump.) You can only carry four guns at a time so choose wisely.

Fancy Skulls combines the FPS roguelike genre with mystery, strategy, and minimalist visuals.
Since then, the game has been updated with new enemies, new items, new weapon mods, new level layouts, unlockable playstyle modifiers, in-game achievements/challenges

If you are having trouble figuring out what is causing it I might be able to help you figure out the cause. I have helped friends and family with way too many of these things. We are Steambros so you can hit me up on there if you want, display name is Stavers.

Fancy Skulls is great fun, much better than Paranautical Activity in my opinion and right up there with Tower of Guns.

Any particular reason why you would leave out the "older games"?

Oh, I didn't mean leave anything out, just maybe do a "recent arrivals" section at the top followed by alphabetical for everything else, so people who have been through this rodeo a couple times would be able to quickly scan for stuff that was new to them.

I'm curious though, why would you say that a new thread increases the visibility comapred to taking the old thread, changing the title, updating the info and then bumping it again for the sale, which we did for the past few sales?

Because new threads show up on @NeoGafNewThread and don't have a reading marker already set in people's subscriptions, so they tend to attract more attention than a bump. Maybe a little paradoxical, but it's true!

I'm most interested in Ironclad Tactics, Heavy Bullets, Ghost Recon Future Solider, Splatter, and Vector
Space Engineers, A Story About My Uncle, Lili: Child of Geos, The Last Tinker, Q.U.B.E: Director's Cut and Lunar Flight in case I get my hands on an Oculus Rift someday. :(

rybrad helped me to figure out what was seemingly causing the BSoD!

Cool. Are you doing a thread?

Came here to post this but you beat me to it! Its got this night drive atmosphere going on and I really like the music.

Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll buy it right now but it's on my radar.

Sunset Kickstarter

Already more than 1/3 of the way.

Nice I wasn't even aware Tale of Tales is making a new game, they surely can reach the goal easily.

Gunpoint is currently on a super low 75% off sale on steam for 2 steam bucks.

I highly recommend picking it up for that price.

Strike Vector is also on sale - down from the original £18.99 to £8.99 and now to £4.49. Should be a decent number of people online since it's in the top 10 sellers.

Also - Knock, Knock is on sale on GoG.... anyone here played it?

It was featured in the Indie GOTY thread with some very high praise in the voting. I havent played it, but that should be enough praise actually and I should pick it up myself.

Thanks man - I have a feeling the GoG client might launch tomorrow (mysterious countdown on their site etc) - but I might wait for the steam sale....

Or just not buy it - so many games...

Speaking of which, Tiny and Big for $1 on Steam currently.

You need, need, need to pick this up. I doubt you'll play a more refreshing 3D game this year if you havent played it yet.

I remember I met these guys at Gamescom a couple of years back, nice dudes.

I wasn't super thrilled about the game, though I understand I was in the minority.

+1 for Tiny & Big. It's such a fun game. I'd say maybe only Red Faction Guerrilla has more fun environmental destruction IMO and that adds so much to the platforming and gameplay. It's one thing to jump across pillars; it's another to be doing that, while slicing giant stone slabs to pieces, and then you accidentally slice the ground in half and everything collapses.

Physics, action, humor, a vibrant art style. Tiny & Big for a $1 is an absolute steal

Apparently Paypal blocks my purchases after 10 times or so. It was cheap enough to randomly throw Tiny&Big around my friends list a few times. Hope some of those get to check it out.

Thanks to the Steam thread I discovered two text adventures that I wasn't aware were released today on Steam, they aren't new games but I don't think they were featured before.

Small thing, but can you change the word "LINK" to the actual link? Otherwise Toma-Bot will only pick up "Link" during the crawl.

The games seem to be really bad though, dont they? Did you read any positive impressions somewhere?

Impulse buy with steam wallet credit xD.

Maybe the story isn't that good but I'm not too picky with these things and eventually I enjoy some bad games.

That bullet shooter I was always shouting about, XenoRaptor, is finally on Early Access

Devs of Not The Robots, Spewer, and The Company of Myself put their new game on Greenlight

Titanum Frontier - late 2014 (PC, Mac, Linux)
637x358.resizedimage

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=269656805

Titanium Frontier begins with classic vertical shoot-em-up gameplay. Something like Space Invaders, or Ikaruga, or the indie game, Jamestown. You shoot the baddies with a gun that fires in a fan-shaped pattern and you dodge an irresponsible number of bullets.
On top of this, we're mixing in some elements from strategy games - your health bar is also the main form of currency, and it can be used to various ends, like buying defensive turrets, using special weapons, and spawning minions to attack other players.

Let us know whether its decent enough or whether we shouldnt waste money on it :p

Vagante Alpha is up for anyone interested.

I tried it and for an early alpha it's got great potential. I sure am looking forward to seeing this as a finished product!

Looks interesting, can you make a properly formatted post about it? (See first post of this thread) Then it would automatically be included next month :)
