Indie World announced for August 7

Two somewhat disappointing Directs in quick succession…surely the next one will have some bangers…right?

Thank you for your sacrifice.

Why would the Metroid Prime 4 release date be announced in a Partner Showcase or an Indie World?

Ah, so you were just drive-by shitposting. Got it.

Anyway, maybe my expectations were just in the fucking basement after that Partner Showcase, but I thought this was pretty good? I immediately wishlisted UFO 50 and Herdling after the show and many of the other games could be potential sale pickups if they review well. There was a lot more genre variety than usual too. Cozy games and metroidvanias were only like a quarter of the titles shown instead of being the whole fucking show. It also didn't have much filler. Solid B for me.
No, as a fan of video games, I was expressing my annoyance that we still don't have release dates for my two most anticipates games of 2025. Totally innocuous thing to do actually.

Listen, I'm desperate for both too, but Microsoft almost certainly has a PR deal for Silksong, so Nintendo won't be announcing its release date and MP4 won't be dated until we either get a general Direct or it gets its own Direct/Nintendo Today drop.

I remember the time that we should wait a whole year for the E3 week to have new announcements… The Switch 2 have barely two months in the market and people are getting crazy 🤣.

I'll gladly champion Little Kitty Big City. People act like these types of games are a big joke but if you actually play them they're charming and fun as hell. It's basically the perfect "play as a cat" game. While I the initial release was short and sweet, I'm curious about the new area they added.

That said, PC version is the way to go. Switch one has bad performance.

I know that people often cant play the same game forever but what are these "cozy games" doing that Stardew Valley didn't? Feel like that game made the genre (spare me the "but akshully harvest moon") and nothing else has come close.
IDK, they're not my type of games but my wife likes them and there are a lot of YouTube channels talking about them, they really are an important part of the Switch audience it seems

Could make a game out of it. What will release first? Metroid Prime 4 or Silksong?

--------

Ahem Mina the Hollower and Neverway look good. The rest were meh.

My money's on Silksong, though I think both are releasing sooner than a lot of people think.
Well either Metroid is stealth releasing September given Borderlands 4 is mysteriously releasing later on Switch 2 then everywhere else and Silksong given the atmosphere might want to release around Halloween time alongside a lot of other indie games and will likely sweep the competition given it's popularity.

But we will see. I've lately rewatched the MP4 trailers and gameplay and the opening footage says year 20X9 and if you play with the numbers around you get 9X20 so my paranoia is thinking September 20th.

Silksong though who knows. Seems like a Halloween release.

Buy UFO 50, you won't regret it.
I did. First game already has me doubting my decision 😅
Now to wrangle myself away from Snowrunner to wrap my head around and test more of what it has to offer. Looking forward to discovering all the mini games.
Any recommendations on how to approach?
