Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

Updated the total funding on the IGG page.

Since I have to do this manually, I'll be doing this once a week or so, unless it pushes us over.
Is there really no BackerKit page one could link to that shows the total in real time or regularly updating automatically?

How's writing on the game going? Have you folks nailed down a complete draft of the scenario yet? Is there concept art and image boards for the major story beats? Are we going to see major scenes in the story animated out of context for the OP? :)

Just bought another digital copy of the game and threw you guys an extra $30. Fingers crossed for that voice acting stretch goal!

Scenario has been completely outlined, story beats planned, and what scenes we expect will be illustrated, in-game / talking heads, or a mixture of the two.

Some rough concepting / storyboarding has happened to for the illustrated story bits, but nothing official, since we'd want to time dialog around that, which hasn't been written yet.

And there will be some short anime bits in the story, but it's not a prominent thing.

Will this game get a physical copy for the Xbox One and PS4?

Yes.

There will be a retail version released in stores, and the campaign-exclusive limited edition version.

If you're interested in the LE, it's in the $60 tier and above, except the all-digital $75 tier.

So the limited edition is only for people who pledged? If that's the case how long will pledging be available because I wouldn't mind doing it but have to wait until next month.

Correct - LE is for backers only.

You get a digital code with it, too, if you want to keep your game sealed, BTW.

And currently we're planning on leaving the campaign open until the end of 2017, so you have plenty of time!

Sorry if this has been answered, but are there any plans to potentially release this on the Switch? I'm almost certainly going to get one of those and I may want to switch (hah) from my PS4 version to the Switch if possible.

Thank you

Marked this on my calendar to make sure I pledge come next month.

We're interested in doing it, but need more specifics on the hardware to know if we can make it work, hit the same schedule, etc.

Also, ultimately it's up to 505 and their faith in the system.

Huh? Are we talking in-engine scenes with unique character animations for story scenes, or actual animated movies? o_0

In-engine with some unique character animations.

We're contracting three minutes from Trigger total, and not all of it is for the opening, just the vast majority of it.

In-engine with some unique character animations.

Mmmmm I love stuff like that. It's really underrated, but people tend to talk a lot about FMVs from the PS1/Saturn era, but what I really liked best were how much more unique sprite animations there were for in-game cutscenes RPGs with 2D characters.

Like what? I'm trying to imagine what you mean.

I mean, don't expect too much in the way of unique animations - they're really expensive, so we need to use them sparingly.

Most games from that era, though, barely use any unique animations. I'd imagine we'll have more than that, but we have to be careful or it could easily overrun the animation budget.

Like what? I'm trying to imagine what you mean.

RPGs which use 2D sprites tend to have fixed animation sets for walking/running/attacks/etc which could be reused over and over depending of the situation of a scene or in battles. Once in a while, usually earlier on in the game or in important scenes mid-game or towards the end, some games would have totally unique one off animations for some characters to make a scene more memorable. Or to express something that the standard animation set simply can't. It could be characters kissing, or special combat animations for a non-playable fight, or someone dancing, etc.

Here's a modern example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=deElUDotm5g

More than the 16-bit era and with more detail though! That's my point. :D

That clears up some confusion.

In that case, which would your recommend: PC or PS4 for collecting the Physical Edition?

I would generally say that I think that if collectability is what you're going for, a console release is probably going to hold it's value more, based on how the Limited Run Games stuff goes.

Console players tend to be collectors more than the modern PC gamer, I think.

KLK poster?

Trigger anime opening CON-FIRMEDDDDD.

Yeah, I'm thinking that it stands out too, it looks like it was put up more recently than the other prints and posters in the room.

It's also oddly framed in the shot, completely un-obscured at all times, even when he shows off the money chocolate.

we all know its Trigger
and in return Lab Zeros next game will be the Kill La Kill fighting game we deserve

More than likely trigger but they can't make official announcements yet.

There's a difference between going 20k an hour and "halting to a stop" LOL. The pace is actually great, just probably not great enough to do 150k in 10ish hours. This is what it feels like to be on the winner's side of the funding goal. Now that the campaign is a success, people are way more willing to part with their cash. If we could have crossed the goal line like a week ago, all the revealed stretch goals so far would be in the bag.

On a side note, this is like example #351532352 of the Japanese being hard to work with. IF the studio actually is like Trigger (or someone popular with Western anime fans) and Ravidrath could actually say so, the pace of pledges would be much faster.

Does bones even have as close of a relationship with Western media as like trigger lol.

i want it to be Trigger so they can make an anime of Indivisible as well

I really think that with us being this close, a final push with an Anime Studio announcement would really set it over the edge and get at least that stretch goal funded.

Heck, with all the attention that would generate, we'd probably get Voiceovers too.

Come on Anime Studio
(It's totally TRIGGER)
, be reasonable!

Thing is, that's already happened.

If we can just get the anime studio announced, it may give the campaign enough momentum to reach the final stretch goals, though.

Fingers crossed...

Pretty hyped for Anime.

Hope it's Trigger.

Deal memo is signed on our end, waiting for them to execute their side.

...But last we heard we may not be able to announce until Spring.

Some amusing quotes I pulled out of the thread from days past. Not that Studio Trigger wasn't a common guess (it was probably the most common guess) but it is interesting how things work out. It only took a year for confirmation LOL

Shit I already did my BackerKit survey for the all digital. Can I change it still?

Ahhh digital code means I might back at that tier. Can you get a physical on one platform and digital on another?

So is there no harm in fulling out the survey now then? I haven't, which should be fine, except I've received a new damn email almost every day about "URGENT REMINDER" since I got the first one. :p

Ideally I'd like to raise my pledge when funds allow, which is why I was holding off to begin with.

EDIT: Answered with a post later, ok then. :p

That's the only physical version backers are getting. If you're getting a physical version from this campaign, you're getting the Collector's Edition.

I initially chose the ask digital version. Then added the limited physical edition from the backer kit survey just went out. So I'm good?

Thanks to DelusiBeta and others for handling some frequently asked questions for me!

Finally managed to get back to the $500 tier!
You guys spelled Ajna wrong.

Thanks so much again, dude.

Yeah, I'm actually going to see if it's possible to tone down the URGENT REMINDER e-mail stuff, because while it is helpful if people fill it out sooner, it's not at all urgent right now.

Indeed, had to laughs about that while reading you repeat here that we'll have time until end of next year. =)

Btw. I guess you're now getting the number what platforms are popular among the backers for digital and physical. Will you share some break down stats about that sometime? Thanks!

I've recently completed Shantae: Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse in anticipation for eventually getting Half-Genie Hero. They're rather cute, fun titles! My experience hair-whipping through them makes me more excited for seeing which details will compose her crossover in Indivisible as well.

On another note, I didn't know Alex Ahad and Mariel Cartwright had credits working on the games. That's pretty cool.

I have the $125 tier which comes with a special t-shirt, IIRC. I want a tapir plush but if I upgrade, I'll lose the special t-shirt, right?

By "I" I really mean "a friend" naturally.

Technically, because BackerKit can't keep track of some of that stuff because of our weird two-tier system.

After you upgrade, please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'll manually add the shirt back on for you.
