inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Just finished it on a good play through, loved the ending and there HAS to be a second one, i need more COLE!!!!!!!!:D :D :D just about to start my evil play through and get all the blast shards :)

Just about to hit the Warren on my second playthrough.

Splitting my time between this and Uncharted 2 beta...Ha, I remember when the summer used to suck for gaming :)

God, it sure fucking sucked being banned during E3 week. Anyway, Infamous is amazing, it caught me completely off guard. The game started off good, but once you hit the warren it's like hooooooooooooolyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit awesome.

Game seems to be picking up speed towards/after the middle. Did two very nice missions:
the flying drones and the mission where you have to rescue Zeke. In the drone mission, i shot one and it came down straight towards me, passed beside me and crash landed a couple of meters behind me, on top of the same super high building. Rather great :)
. Looking forward to continue this evening.

Loved that missions as well. You'll love what comes next ;)

Loving the game, just about to finish the second island with all possible shards, dead drops, stunts and sidequests done! I've really enjoyed the sidequests, and even though they repeat I haven't gotten bored with them. I particularly like the sattelite uplink races.

I copped a direct hit from one of the drones when it crashed! Survived it, thankfully.

lttp on this, but I just noticed the capital FF in oFFicial.

well played OP, well played

I'm not even there yet and I still love this game. I'm thrilled I downloaded that demo.

Currently I love that when I get jumped by 8 enemies I have to actually use strategy and many times a OMFG moment I need electricity or go splat. I'm hoping the enemies will scale when you get more uber powers so the game is not easy.

What I don't like is how every enemy know where are are from 10 miles away, stealth just does not exist.

You can get the drop on them, even the rooftop snipers, especially if you use dodge/cover a lot and stick to the mid-levels rather than the roofs or streets. That said, I'm trying to be so Batman that I usually have to startle them anyway rather than risk knocking them over the edge with a power. Curse my self-imposed morality.

your 2nd play-through was fast! I took every district, upgraded every power, collected all shards/dead drops and achieved every stunt in my Hero run... but I'm not rushing my Evil/hard run, almost playing it like it was the first run collecting things again and stuff (I'm hardcore), so much fun I don't want it to end :lol

:D I just did the main missions and the evil side missions. But I'm short 3k exp for the final lightning upgrade to get the platinum trophy so I'm doing the side missions now.

I think the game is more fun when you're evil (love the red/black lightning) but I prefer the story/ending when you're good :)

When we've finished, lets get back into KZ2 mp. We've hardly played in weeks and I want to try out the new patch some more.

yes definitely playing Evil is a tad more fun since you stop caring about civilians and just unleash your power around. I'm playing Evil/hard as it was my first game, doing every mission and collecting everything, I guess I'll stop doing that when I get enough XP for the upgrades.

:lol

I thought of that, who actually collects the "bound" enemies? And as I secure them in the sewers, wouldn't that be rather evil as nobody will find them.... I definately will replay as evil, but generally for games that give you moral choices, playing evil tends to be a lot easier which is why I chose good first.

I remember back playing KOTOR and a needed a fucking moisture vaporator, it took at least an hour of treking back and forth as a good jedi, as evil I just wasted the sandmen camp and had it in under 5 mins :D

Is there a list of stunts anywhere? I found one on IGN but it's half arsed. Also do i need to do the stunts in the order they are on the start menu or can i do them in any order?

You can do them in any order, it just only shows the next one on the list via the pause menu. There's a list here, and some tips here.

come back to KZ2, new patch is pretty awesome! :)

I think the best part about inFAMOUS is the fact that its great fun whether you play good or evil, just different types of fun. Evil = unleash all hell and see lovely particle effects and things go boom. Good = precision challenge and saving others at the risk of getting more hurt yourself.

I haz platinum!

Only my 3rd along with Uncharted and KILLZONE 2.

Awesome game! :D

Will do! I'm getting the urge again :D I guess the new maps will help.

Finally got my platinum too.

They really need to put a stats page in this game. It's obviously too late at this point but they should make a patch or something.

Finished this awesome game last night. Great fun, entertaining and played really good. Played it on hard and I have to say by the end I was owning bad guys left and right, even on hard you are pretty overpowered. I'm replaying on easy, being bad and it feels so good! Can't wait for inFAMOUS 2!

Heh, i didn't realise you could upgrade your powers until after i finished the story. Played the whole game using the basics.

Looking at the aweome sarchitecture of the warren, and seeing the game world open up more, I'm becoming almost angry that I can't play this on a system that would allow me to decide which details to sacrifice for clean image quality. The game jumping to 60fps in some spots only makes it more infuriating.

Now that should net you a gold trophy! Damn!

I wish, this is the only game where i am actively going after trophies which says a lot about the game. I upgraded them all today to get the trophy and still have XP left over :lol

Wha'?!?

What did you think you were getting the XP for all along?

Dunno, never really paid attention to it. :lol

Doesn't anyone read game manuals anymore? :lol

I've given up on them at this stage tbh, they're usually shitty so i didn't bother. Shows how badass i am though.

Doesn't the game itself educate you about upgrading powers? I never touched the manual either.

yeah, I'm pretty sure it's one of the first things it teaches you... somewhere between shocking the batteries and dummies on Zeke's roof and the first mission, methinks

I wonder how different that made that game for you, NinjaFridge. props to you

You are now qualified to write an inFamous review and have San Jose Mercury News publish it.

Probably did but i forgot. I feel like a badass and a dumbass at the same time.

How do you use the
rocket deflector. It tells me to press R1. How does that work? Somebody launches a rocket at you. What do you have to do then?
.

Game is heating up now :) I'll wait until i have finished the game for the mini-review but there is one thing that i find a real pity about this game: not enough variety in the enemies. You're always fighting the same guys without much variation. That's one thing i feel Sucker Punch should have payed a lot more attention to. At times i feel like zapping the same enemies over and over and i get really bored and annoyed. The strange though: after an hour of not playing, i feel like going in again. Real pity they didn't expand on the enemy variety.

You have to use the shock wave hold L1 and press x

There is an extra power you can unlock in which you can redirect the rocket in the direction you want. At least, that's what i understood from reading the explanation.

you can redirect megaton hammer shots. fire it, then move the reticule to where you want, then press R1 or R2... cant remember which, never used it

edit: should be R1 the more I think about it, R2 would... conflict with another power.

Oh ok, yeah you shoot the rockets than use the standard bolt to target your enemy.

congrats Josh... I'm only halfway through the second island, holy shit at the evil missions here, so amazing, game keeps delivering though I already achieved 100% in my previous Hero run.

edit: I love the graphics with the mid-day light setting

Can anyone help with the location of a good map that lists all the shards?

Heard there were some bunko maps out there missing some. Thank you in advance.

Arc Lightninig is THE best power in the game, hands down. It makes you feel like such a badass, plus it's a master at dishing out bad karma.
