Some woman said "Just don't hurt the kids!"

Which was weird since I have good karma.
I resuscitated a woman and she said, "We should hook up."

"Don't shock me, bro." is another good one.

Oh my goodness I'm gonna pull my hair out. I spent the past 2 hours collecting shards, and after combing through each island building by building, block by block, I'm missing 2 shards! :\

They need a tool like in Burnout Paradise where you upload your save and it tells you which shards you're missing.

LOL I've had this exact same problem... but I have a few more left. I dunno where I missed them... i'm guessing near the piers... the coastline... I'm taking a break from this game to make sure I dont flunk out of my classes, but should be back to playing this weekend. :D

I really wish Sucker Punch would have just made this a straight-up action adventure game instead of this faux "open world" bullshit they were going for. The city itself has about as much life as a dead fish, it's not really all that interactive, and it feels like they're jack shit to do besides do missions or collect random shit. Plus all of the missions themselves are either the standard open world fare (tail this guy, go here and kill reavers, etc.) or are just remarkably boring (shut off the valves? really?). I like Cole's powers and everything but I'm only about four hours into it and I'm already getting bored.

I think infamous has similar level of interactivity of other open world games like GTA or crackdown. scale the buildings, get missions on the street. have side missions and story missions.

It's not doing a whole lot less that those games, that's for sure.

it's not rewriting the book with open world gaming but it never set out to do so. it's taken the crackdown formula and added some mission variety and some story.

Gears 2 smoke cringe has been extended, plus the netcode has been improved. So much fun. But must. get. back. to. InFAMOUS....

Has this game been delayed?
I went to buy it and was told it was being released on the 04/06 . WTF
No wonder Sony titles fail to sell billions. They announce the game for one day then release it god knows when.

Considering tons of people had the game well ahead of the release date, I'd say no. Blame your retailer and don't make silly judgements without any facts to back things up.

Unless you live in Australia, in which case that was always the promised release date as far as I know.

I'm loving this. It's like a more nuanced Crackdown.

The only complaint I have is that sometimes it's hard to tell where you are being shot at from.

Direction of the blood on the screen.

1 fucking shard left. I systematically scoured the whole city, section by section, making a loop on the trains, checking all the waterline and piers. *sigh*

I played a shit ton of this last night and today. I had done the same with bionic commando and beat it in 2 sittings. So after I save I go back to the screen to see how far in I am... 34%
:lol :lol :lol

This game is badass. I have had a couple of glitches (like trying to hang over a ledge by the water to use as cover and falling through the environment) but overall it doesn't hamper the experience. So far my favorite thing has to be zipping from line to line whilst flying in between jumps, holy shit does it make you feel like a badass. Once you get the bigger powers upgraded you really start to feel superpowerful, but the enemies to ramp up so it's still a challenge.

You summed up my feelings exactly. I'm a bit surprised at the high praise the game is getting despite this being true. There are more fun and better open world games out there, but despite that I'm still enjoying inFamouse for now. I still hate how slow the method of travel is though too. Another negative aspect since it is set in an open world style.

That mission with
the spy planes
was so fun!

Also did my first street fight mission tonight, that was chaotic fun.

is this out in EU?

i know it's listed as a may 29th release, but i've seen copies popping out for it.

it's been out in Spain since yesterday, but I ordered the UK version just to have the English track right from the start and the U2 beta... now the waiting...

I'm guessing you didn't progress very far yet. Thrusters + Air Gliding is the most awesome way to travel.

oh please FKN Junior...

Please excuse my language.
Oh fucking crazy mission on Island 2. It was an all out royal rumble between the reapers and those trash can gangsters fools.

Best mission ever.

So I just got inFamous in the post this morning from play. I can't find the uncharted 2 beta slip though. It is meant to be in the box right? My invoice says it is inFamous with Uncharted 2 beta access. :|

Whats going on? Are they going to email me or something?

wait till you get to
island 3 for bigger, crazier, epic gang fight, you'll know it when you see it. and this is just the side mission.

The mission where you have to tail the helicopter is driving me crazy. keep losing it. Might be time for bed and give it another go when I wake up.

Wow, despite not really enjoying the demo, I still picked this up and...

Ive lost track of how long Ive been playing, I fucking love this game :D Got to the 2nd Island and had to stop. Just so much fun

This game fucking rocks, a long time since I've been so addicted to a game. Unlocked the second island just now, and immediately started platforming the
prison area
for the shards. Some of the best platforming in a non-platforming-only game ever, I love how it's not extremely obvious where you can grab and climb, and non-repetitive geometry, woooo.

Also got all 145 shards from the first island, lucky me.

I finally found something I hate. Climbing trees sucks balls. I spent ten minutes trying to get a shard at the top of a tree to no avail, that was frustrating as fuck considering I can climb up skyscrapers.

I find with trees branches are the issue, sometimes you need to jump to a nearby tree then back to the original only you get a bit higher.
EDIT: Also I <3 stunts. :D

Yeah, that's what I was doing, but this was an area with like 4 trees bunched (clearly the game designer saying "do some platforming here chuckle head"). The problem is the sticky landings, which make it annoying as hell to land on the tree you wanted, or to get back to the tree with the shard.

Just got the game 1 day before release, woohoo :) Really looking forward to playing it, just stated playing Dead Space too though so I'll have enough on my hands this weekend!

Travel can be incredibly quick on the rail and power lines when you can glide on them. Faster than cars even in other open world games.

Also there are some excellent missions in the game. Not all the side-missions are great, but some of the story missions are truly wonderful...not sure if you've got there yet.

Yeah? Like what? There's no sandbox game that can hold a candle to the core gameplay of InFamous.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. I'm loving this game, it'd be nice to have even better options for when I finish it.

Aquired the game yesterday and got quite hooked. Played for about 5 hours until my head was throbbing like hell and I had to give up. (I guess that's the downside for sitting 10 inches away from a 50" screen)

Working my way too good now, but lost quite a bit when I accidentally pressed square while jumping from a building and completely destroying everyhing and everyone on the street below. Fun times!

There is the new Red Faction.. the demo holds at least a flicker of what to comes. Hopefully it won't disappoint, a lack of variety in missions, etc. could damper the experience.. Honestly, Geomod 2.0 "destruction "can is fun for only so long.. YEAH, I said it!

This game is fantastic. I just got the
Grinding on rails
ability....wow.
You can go forward, backwards while shooting, jump from rail to rail
...fuck awesome! :D

I only have one stunt left, the Thunderstorm one (and I still don't have that power :( ). And wooo, the shop where I bought the game from mailed me my Uncharted 2 beta code, sweet.

Sometime on island 2 I was doing a side mission, or something, where I had to choose between looting a guy's locker of blast shards, or defending him from some dust men. I chose to defend him thinking he'd give me the shards anyway (and I'm playing good my first time through), but instead he just said thanks and the locker shut with the shards in it.

Can I not get all 350 now? Did I screw myself?

Barely moved forward with the story at all yesterday. I just ran around being the hero. I've reclaimed at 80 percent of the neon district and I still have one power station to turn on.

As to what story I've seen, I still think Trish and Zeke serve the purpose of pushing Cole more towards evil, or rather, not giving him an anchor to hold on to. But my word, do they ever suck as people.

Those shards don't count towards the trophy.

No. Those are "extra" shards you'd only receive in a quest, they do not count toward the total shards you find on the islands.

Is that how they treat the hidden package shards as well?
