inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Does anyone have any good tips on the Up Close & Personal stunt (5 melee kills in under 30 seconds without firing)? I'm yet to find a good place/situation to do it.

Try it vs. the spider enemies.

Do it on the spidercrab things around the Warren. Near the Prison entrance to the island you can get 5 or more to start chasing you with ease.

All I have to say really...

Hurry up Cole..
Get the lead out!
Hurry up Cole...
Get the lead out!
Hurry up Cole...
Get the lead out!

:lol
I hated hearing that, yet I had to hear it so much because I failed to take the correct routes a few times.

hi , iamcool388 , check your PM for your Uncharted 2 BETA code

so do we know that the Australian release on Thursday will DEFINITELY not have a U2 beta code?

:(

I'm liking the game and the various missions are decent, but it's starting to get slightly repetitive (I'm on the second island) and the story is really uninteresting.

Thanks for the fastest reply in NeoGAf history! Dragnet you were way too slow, taking a full 2 minutes :D

Worked great, I found a
Dustman Conduit
, waited for him to
spawn a ridiculously large number of spiders
, and then got both the Up Close & Personal stunt and the Crowd Control stunt (after scaling a nearby roof).

Something annoying: I now have 2 stunts left. One of them is the one involving lightning storm (I knew that because I haven't unlocked lightning storm yet!). Unfortunately I have no idea what the other one is, since the game merely tells me that I'm up to "Stunt 20 of 21, Lightning Storm required to perform the next trick". Does that strike anyone else as being particularly stupid? Surely if I can't do that stunt, it should be recommending the one that I CAN do?

On a brighter note I just got to mess around in the
Prison
on island 2... best open world game ever.

Game is so awesome; once I start playing I don't want to stop. I love games that you can effortlessly play for hours without it feeling tedious.

ARRRGGHHHH Just finished the "Alden in Chains" mission and what the heck!
Ok the first Conduit at the beginning was a little hard but ok but after putting the power on, WTH, 3 Conduits!!!! THREE!!!!!

Not even, I did it by running towards an enemy, jumping, shooting him real quick, than smashing square. It worked pretty quickly!

I just noticed the foldout map on the guide is a poster on the back. Pretty nice.

I just spent 2 hours collecting shards in Neon, and I already had 45, AND I have a map. So sweet though, I did it real methodically going block to block, but at the end there was one I couldnt find. The last one was the funnest one, I was zipping across the rails so quickly and I found it within 2 minutes. Awesome. There was a frustrasting moment though when I was looking for one, I ran into a puddle where 6 civilians were standing in and I killed them all. That probably cancels out the hundreds of civilians I've saved :(

I'm buying that guide now. I want that poster. Anyone knows where I can find a huge picture of the infamous image from the game informer magazine?

I want to make a poster out of it.

I'm terribly sorry to bring this into this thread, but is there really no way for europeans to get in the Uncharted 2 Beta?
Goddamit, I only bought inFamous so quick because I wanted to get into the beta.

I'm sure we'll get given the opportunity somewhere along the lines.

I'm just about done with the second island and I'm beginning to fear for the end of the game. I'm having so much fun I just don't want it to be over.

That actually means you only have that stunt left, so keep playing until you get that power, then good luck.

My European retailer had the gigawatt blades and an Uncharted 2 beta voucher as pre-order bonuses. It wouldn't surprise me if Eurogamer, blog.eu.playstation.com, and a bunch of other websites are going to give away more beta codes next week.

Is there a counter that lets me know how close I am to getting the trophy? I need 100 high falls, 100 leeches, 25 train kills and 25 on car kills, but I have no clue how close I am to getting them.

and about the car kill one. Does it have to be driving, or do I just stand on a car in the middle of the road with a driver?

It seems that some select stores are given the codes. In my country only one retailer had them as pre-order bonuses, the others got nothing.

No stat-tracking is displayed at all outside of what you can see on your load game screen. I think the car has to actually be moving, but once there are spiders running around on the second island, you'll get it quickly. The train one is a lot harder since it goes so damn fast. I haven't gotten that one myself yet.

Does anyone have a listing of how many shards there are on each island. Here is what I have right now:

Neon - 145
Warren - 134? (I have 133 and can't reach #134)
Historic - 71?

Unfortunately no, the lack of a stats page is an annoying oversight on Sucker Punches part. I still need the trophies for 50 sticky grenades, 25 train kills and absording 750 megawatts. The last one is a real pain not knowing how close I am because I have no idea how that works. How many megawatts is typically drained, does overspill count?

As someone already told me, don't worry about this one, just keep playing and you'll easily get it *wink*. They were right.

I finally got the 3 high falls. I don't know if this was a regular spawn, but I was back in Neon, which is at 100%, near the north is the square with the large statue
that you climbed to drop the medical supplies at the beginning
, north of statue is a tubular glass building with a red, tubular top. 3 Reapers spawned on top of there.

Here are the numbers that BeeDog posted, I can confirm the first island number is correct so I assume the others are right too:
Neon: 147
Warren: 135
Historic District: 68

So cumulatively (if you're doing them island by island in order):
147, 282, 350.

Bear in mind that there is one shard on the first island that you cannot get until after you have been to the second island already: the one on the pole out in the water on the East side of Neon. You'll need thrusters to reach it and you unlock that ability on the second island. This is the shard that everybody misses and has to go searching for at the end of the game.

EDIT: here's a picture of that shard that was posted by Revolutionary earlier in the thread:

Damn, no one listens to me lol. It goes:

146
137
67

loved the demo. pre-ordered it when I saw pics of it. Uncharted 2 beta looks awesome ^.^ now I can't wait to play it and use the giga blades. :D

Once again, those numbers taken from GameFAQs are WRONG. There are 147 shards on the first island. I don't mean to be pedantic but if someone is going to go block by block through every single island looking for every single shard, they better be looking for the right number!

Wasn't he
killed by the First Sons?
not exactly sure, but he was
but he was still around after the game. There was a broadcast where it's killed the studio was rushed and he was likely killed. Then there was a news broadcast about the turrist they caught. So I'm assuming Moya's faction got him. Maybe they torture him and give him powers and send him after you in the next one.

Is there any stats screen in the game that would tell me something like shards I've gathered per island? I've seen something similar only when I select the save file.

Probably been asked a million and one times in the thread already but is there any New Game+? Like, to start the story over again but keeping all my powers and shards etc.

I haven't reached it yet, but from what I understand, after you finish the main story missions, you get put back in the world with all you're powers and stuff. You don't, how ever, get to restart the story with all you're powers. I wonder if they could add something like that via DLC.

Why does it feel like the frame-rate in a closed off areas (the sewers or other things like that) is less stable then when I'm running around the world. Anyone else feeling this?

Best place i've found is during the 2nd karma moment with the riot officers. I got it without even thinking about it.

Lighting model is different down there.

You know, one of my favorite things to do, now that I'm halfway through the second island, is to run just barely into the powerless sectors of the island and just see how long I can last in that crazy battle royal.

And because I'm not too far into the area, it's not hard to escape and grab some extra juice before rejoining the fray.

Just got to the 2nd island. Playing on hard my biggest complaint is how fast I run out of power; I'm constantly recharging. I need to get around to maxing my charge power.

Quick question.
I cant seem to break out of HERO. I constantly drop a little and then rise a little.
If I headshock a reaper is that a bad deed?
If I throw a shock grenade at a reaper and he blows up a car with people in it is that a bad deed?
Finally if I wounded kill a Reaper instead of restraining him does that lower me as well?

I believe blowing up the car with someone in it is evil; the other 2 are neutral.

No to all. Killing wounded is neutral, head shocks are wither good or neutral (can't remember which), and killing bystanders on accident doesn't effect you at all.
The only evil things I've noticed in dealing with bad guys are leeching them or restraining them and then killing them (execution).

That's not true at all.

Killing bystanders on accident (or purpose) definitely negatively effects your karma. I kept losing Karmic Overload because of it towards the end of the game on Hero.
It won't show up on the screen as "Killed Bystander +1 Evil XP" or something, but believe me when I say it counts.

You guys are awesome thanks.
Fu#$ this game is addicting.
