inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

I probably put in about 40 hours into this game and I loved every minute of it. :D

Oh god, I have 3 shards left to find on the second island (i refuse to advance to the third until I find them). are there any tricky ones on the 2nd island akin to the pier one on the 1st island?

Ok, I know it's very early going but where the HELL am I supposed to go on the mission 'High Ground.'?

Just stick to the roof tops, and follow the blue way points. You will then need to head down into the sewers to restore the electricity to the area.

Checklist:

¤ Got all at the container area?
¤ Checked the megacranes at the pier?
¤ Checked the coast lines? I believe there was one or two on top of floating garbage at some parts.
¤ Got all around the prison?

i mean, i'm pretty sure I got all of those. what do you mean floating garbage?

Gas is 8 bucks a gallon
Scarce food is picked up from airdrops
The power got turned back on yesterday.
Where the hell is everyone in this city getting a camera?
I expected to see some burning Shutter Bug store that got looted and set on fire.

Along the coast line around the island there's always a bunch of floating debris and crap. I believe a shard could be found on top of a floating broken metal beam along the water at one part.

I cant stop gushing about this game. I have never felt like such a absolute bad ass before. Sucker Punch truly captured the feeling of being a unstoppable machine in this game.

I think the city would be in better shape if people cleaned up all the dead bodies in the street. Maybe make a raft out of them or something. Secret 4th island is dead body island.

Just finished it, got the Hard Finish and related Good karma finishes. Then I quickly ran around getting the 4 or 5 dead drops I had missed (I wasn't specifically looking for shards/drops while I played but I had good luck with the drops, they tended to be the places I was running around anyway).

Now I just have about half the shards (ugh) and I have to save up another 9000 XP or so so I can get my last upgrade. :lol Going to be grinding those First Son fools for a while I think. Then a quick Evil playthrough on easy or something, not going to worry about the stunts until my second real playthrough. Some of those are going to be a bitch.

I'm having a hard time doing stunt 14. It's where I have to electricute an enemy in the air and then thunder drop him. I feel like I've successfully done it but it's not working...

Ughh..

I still have about 5k before I get my final power upgrade...It's the 3rd tier standard zap, which I realize now it really stupid. The whole last island would have been easier if I had that.

Except when you die 300 times.. :lol

But I totally agree. This is the first game in a LONG ass time I just simply cannot put down.

I am fucking DOING this yet this game never gives me the option to go down into the fucking sewers. I am so frustrated right now I can't even tell you. how the fucking FUCK are you supposed to know when to go down into the fucking sewer? I'm sorry but I have been stuck on this mission of the last 2 FUCKING HOURS and I'm only 5% into the game.

LOL I've been running around like mad trying to find people to revive, then I just figured out that if I kick someone in the back once, I can revive them....then do it again and again.

i made sure to buy that one as soon as I got the XP. only upgrades I need are the 2nd/3rd tier MegaWatt Hammer. I should get it by playing naturally, not even to the third island yet.

2 shards to find in The Warren. :(

The blue map marker is right on the sewer entrance.

Figured that might give it away.

Otherwise...if you're having trouble with gun turrets mounted on truckbeds...well...have you tried hiding so you're safe from the turret and then shooting the trucks until they go boom? Or taking a REALLY wide turn to try to maximize the distance between you and the trucks?

I just got there. Maybe I just fucking suck at games but the mission instructions did not make it very clear that you HAD to hit the generator waypoints on the rooftops in order to be able to use the sewer system. God that was so fucking annoying.

The stunt they describe on the start screen is one you haven't done yet, right?

Yep.

Also, I'm about half way through now, up to
Alden in Chains
. Holy fuck. What an amazing mission. I have to say I thought the game was getting a little dull, turning into a megawatt launching frenzy, but that really was such a fun mission. Feeling overwhelmed yet in control at the same time, then a nice break with some really cool platforming and then back to one of the most fun fights yet. Even though I'd read about it prior I thought it'd be frustrating as hell, but it really was perfectly put together. Got me right back into the game!

Just saw the commercial on Fox for the second time tonight.:D

If this game flops you really can't blame Sony for the T.V. commercials.

Funny enough this is the first Sony game that I have actually seen my more casual friends purchasing. I am hoping so bad this is a success for Sucker Punch.

Alright, 2 stunts left, Right Back at Ya and Suspended Sentence. I don't have Thunder Storm yet so I haven't tried Suspended Sentence but Right Back at Ya is a really frustrating stunt.

Personally, I feel there are too many side-missions in this. Doing a side-mission type once? Cool. Multiple times? Ugh. Too many side-missions not finished = too many guys around shooting me.

My feelings as well. My 2nd playthrough was dedicated to doing all the side missions and after my 3rd time having to scale a building to zap security devices was enough for me. They could have cut down the amount of similar side missions and just upped the XP reward and it would have been better.

The game simply overloads you. Too many enemies doing too much damage because they are way too fucking accurate. Bad game design is all it is. I'll live through it for teh coveted tropheez :D

Just beat it on hard, I had no issues at all. Learn to use shield, cover, and use high ground to your advantage.

Yeah Sony is really pushing this game hard, a lot of my casual and non gamer friends are talking about it.

The side missions never take anymore than 10 min tops, ever. And no side missions finished = more exp from random dudes + chances to pull off the stunts if you still need them.

You people bitching about enemies killing you all the time just running around, are you on the ground or what?

Get on stuff up high, stop running on the ground where everyone can shoot you, take cover and stop putting yourself in spots where you can't power up easily if you are fighting.

OK, I'm going crazy here. I'm still in the Neon and have 145 Shards. I know there is one that you can't get until you can hover, but anyone know of any far out/easy to miss Shards besides the one out on the pier?

Holy God! Just finished the game. That. Was. Mindblowing. Fantastic game with a really good story. The music for the credits was great. I can't wait for Infamous 2 now.

Just finished up my Good/Hard run, game is SO FUKKEN GOOD! Hella tight, yo! Now I just gotta heal up some more peds (this is where a counter would come in handy), rank up my last few positive powers (need to get about 15,000xp uuugh) and the Platinum is mine! :D

inFamous 2, bring it! Bring it so hard Sucker Punch, srsly.

Also noticed that Quinton Flynn (Raiden from MGS) is listed in the credits. Wonder who he played..

I got to say, having the player make a choice and have the same outcome for both choices is pretty lousy.

Be more specific? If it's what I'm thinking of, it totally makes sense in the end.

I think I know what you're talking about, and It's explained if you keep playing.

Doing the defend the power stations mission made me wish Cole was one of the four survivors in L4D.

One of the best OMG im a bad ass, please bring more stuff for me to kill moments in the game.:D

So your only power is to shoot lightning in this game?

No other elements? Must get monotonous.

Kind of reminds me of the PS1 game Galerians, without all of the other cool powers.

Try it before you bash it.

The powers are much more varied than you might expect.
